It's very simple to remove the old clips and put these on. I was asking if the movement was normal. SCR have replied and said there is 1mm movement due to the profile of the hole for the original clip.
This doesn't affect the clip on impact which was my main worry

I recently bought some of the self fit line clip conversions from South coast reels for my daiwa tournament 5000t. My query is, once I have fitted the clip there seems to be lateral movement from where the clip is fitted. It's almost like the shaft that the spring sits on seems too thin. Just a bit concerned how this will be on impact
Has anyone got these and had the same result?
Apologies if my description doesn't make sense

I talked my pal out of the sonik axs and said to him to get the quest block as he ideally wanted the head room. I feel pretty bad now as he has had to send his back due to quality issues....

I too had the DPM compact which was top notch for the money. It's a shame as they have something good going and it seemed like we could avoid the dreaded carp tax.....

Thread: Cyprinus typhoon Vs tempest

I decided to purchase both of these bivvys to see which one was the best..keeping in mind the cyprinus was a bit cheaper and came with some extras.
I bought the V2 bivvy system from danson for £425 and the Typhoon direct for £365 on one of their Popcorn bidding auctions.
So first impressions of the tempest were good. I've owned the original air and liked it. I did find the quality was flawed in certain areas but as a shelter it was good. The V2, although the older model now, seems well built. I checked over the stitching and it was all good apart from a couple of small tag ends which I can forgive. Material is a heavy duty aquatex which I like due to stopping light coming in during the day. The frame was nicely finished although I have noticed, that after erecting the bivvy only a handful of times, the black anodising is chipping very easily. The groundsheet is a true heavy duty and all accessories seem fairly good quality... The price I paid seemed fair but I don't think it's worth the £700-£800 price the newer models seem to have. The whole Adaptive Ventilation technology on their newer bivvys is just another marketing trick like their chain link technology.......come on guys, just tell us you've improved the summer sweats with a bit more breeze and those bloody elastics won't break. Overall the I was impressed with the tempest. No where near as bad as some.of the horrors I have heard, but then I might of been lucky a f it is still early days.....
So today I took delivery of a M4 typhoon bivvy........
Firsts impressions were this. Opened the box to find a near identical looking bag to the tempest. As soon as I picked it up I noticed the bag material and handles were no where near as thick as what is used on the nxg bag supplied with the tempest. Not a good start but it's just a carry bag......in the box was another toggle bag which had the pegs in. This was made from bivvy and ground sheet material. The pegs supplied are very poor quality with almost an overspill of plastic from the moulds which had not been cut off. Going from bad to worse here 😳 I took the bivvy out to my grassed lawn to put up and unrolled the bivvy. Inside was the groundsheet, vapour shield and bag with storm poles. Immediately I could see the vapour shield had loads of thread hanging off the stitching. When I checked it over I was not impressed with the following finish. Okay, this may just bee long tag ends from the stitching but I would not accept this if I were buying a t-shirt describes as a premium line..
I went on to erect the shelter. Pretty much the same as the tempest..unfold, sections together and then fan out. This is where the similarities stop. I came to put the 3 front poles into the central block and found the inner bore of the tube to be much larger than the male section of the block. The poles are then tensioned with a camlock type system which actually works well. The problem lies with the poor quality ill fitting tubes. When I had tensioned all of these I realised the front was sagging and needed the storm poles to hold the weigh of this area up.....something the tempest doesn't need. At this point it was enough to see.....the tempest is on a different level for me... I have never been a big trakker fan but when I compared the 2 of these it was a clear winner.....the tempest! Not only was the design of the tempest much better also the quality higher. I must add that one of the front rib poles on the typhoon has shown an area of stress where it has been inserted after one use..it's boxed up ready to be shipped back..
Summary is the tempest,.as most will know, is a.better shelter.
If you were.thinking about the typhoon and have owned a tempest then don't bother. If your after a quick erect shelter then there are plenty out there to choose from...maybe I was unlucky with this one......but I'm.not.so.sure 🤔

Having trouble trying to get hold of a skull cap for my V2 bivvy. Was told by a shop that they believe the 100 advanced skull cap will fit.
Has anyone actually tried this?
Thanks in advance 👍
