On a new water this year and its the ideal venue for a baiting pole - lots of nooks and crannies to get into but lots of overhead obstructions. Been tossing up for ages which pole to get but ordered a Bushwhacker in the end - seen lots of debates for an against, but that's the one ive gone for - mainly as I like the stability of the float, and like the fact the poles lock together - perhaps Im wrong but I can see the telescopic poles twisting on each other unless you get the really tight and that may lead to problems getting them loose again. Anyway - the bushwhackers on back-order now so ive placed my bet.
Anyway - the reason for this post wasn't so much which pole to go for, more to get some thoughts on how to use a deeper or similar feature finder with a baiting pole. I've seen on ebay some fairly professionally made plastic arms, but they look to be stuck on with a sticky pad - so not particularly secure. I guess you could use Sika or CT1 or the like instead of the sticky pad, but then I thought, why not just drill a small hole in the baiting spoon and use a short 5-10cm length of braid and a snaplink clip or the like ?
Anyone using a deeper or similar with a baiting spoon ? - if so how are you doing it ?

I suppose you could put a cable tie around the end of the pole right before the spoon to save drilling a hole.
And then attach a boom or length of strong braid with a link swivel on the end to attach the Deeper.

ive got a bushwhacker - its great btw
I am looking at somehow attaching my go pro to it so can record my spots, not sure if the float will hold the weight but im going to give it a go

Could try a Gardner camera adaptor to see if the screw in the pro is 1/4”.

Saw someone on fb that had a mount for a deeper & gopro on their bushwacker. Looked absolutely ridiculous but apparently it worked

Just tie it on. I tie my deeper to boats and tow it all over the shop, bit of spliced leadcore or similar jobs a good un

L section Aluminium boom maybe, drill a hole on one end put the spoons thread through it tighten up to pole, hole on other end for Deeper, maybe cutting part of the L section away to give uninterupted flat surface for mount.

It isn't... tried today, thinking it might be the same size thread, but the adaptor thread is slightly too big. Ended up tying the deeper on with some braid.

Having read the post about a GoPro on one I'm now tempted to add a fish spy or something similar - this is perhaps starting to get a bit silly, but part of me thinks this might help to ensure you avoid snags, and of course check the presentation - this particular water is gin clear so would be ideal.
