In johnson Ross, its apparently worth 250 quid, but they now selling it for 100, In case anyone fancies one, looks proper huge to me, but it might be just perfect for someone with a van, looks like you can load everything i own on that trolley

Looks rubbish to me tbh think it would be heavy with the wheels so far forward and I don't see why they say no need for bungees then a few seconds later he uses bungees.

Not heavy at all, in fact it's very light and balanced when the bedchair is on the front.. Never needed bungees on mine but for now the jury is out on the trench barrow.. It is big, takes plenty of gear and well built, etc. Everything is all good, until you have to push it up a slope, even a gentle one for some reason it seems to resist forward motion so much more than my previous barrow.. But, for a majority of commercial water anglers £100 is an outright bargain..

Ps, I wouldnt say it is worth anywhere near £250, mine was 135 last year..

I was going to get one of these, but the thing that put me off the most was watching the promo video. They push it through a small puddle, and the bed chair comes so close to the ground, I can just see an issue with even wetter ground, and getting a soaked bed chair, which is far from ideal.

That being said, the whole luggage setup, with the barrow did look smart, but perhaps a better thats better in theory than in reality!

The discount down in price has been in place for a while.

IMHO there is a reason why a builders wheel barrow only has one wheel
these things remind me of the carp porter low loader they were shyte too all the weight was on your arms

Crikey .... I have spent a forune on barrows including low loader over the years. The most recent being the Big Boy Triporter from Prestige, i think there comes a time where a barrow becomes to big and heavy. Ive now gone back to MK4s single (wide punctire proof) wheel .... It may not carry as much but its a heck of lot easier to manoeuvre & weighs a fraction .... I have come to conclusion 2 trips this way is easier than a single trip fully loaded

Bobco have been selling them off for months. I think its selling point is the Shimano Bedchair fits on the front to put weight over the front wheel but im not sure iof other chairs work the same way.

I have the Tri Poter mate which I use on longer sessions and it has been a dream to use.......in a straight line. Mine does not want to turn ever!!!! I spend more time with it on the front wheel but love the build quality and the fact that CP seem to cover spare parts for years.

for almost 20yrs, i've used a chub transporter barrow that i picked up second hand for £20, I sold it yesterday for £15 after years ad years of abuse. Perfectly small, light etc, but the wheel was very far forward. I replaced it with a fox explorer barrow, which is actually easier to push fully loaded with gear than my old chub barrow due to the location of the wheel.

I have the shimano barrow and it's ok. My nash big boy sleep system fits on the front. Got the shimano cook bag that slots below the barrow nice and neat. You can really load it up without straps on it. I can get me and my sons gear for 2 days fishing on .2 beds,2 chairs ,bait boat,food ,bait buckets ect ect .only gripe is the front bed bit is low as I've found wet mud on my bed

OK, so 4th trip out with this and a spectacular failure this afternoon. It seems Shimano either do not understand axle design, or they did not design this barrow. (I have an inkling it is the latter as I have been using Shimano reels and Dura-Ace groupset and wheels on my time trial bike for many years). In simple terms one wheel came off fully loaded, the other very loose. I had previously needed to re tighten the retaining nut, but due to the lowest cost option of a wheel bearing (non sealed ball race unbelievably) the locking nuts don't lock, so on the left wheel it will come off, and bearing will be ****ed. Waiting for a response from Angling direct and Shimano uk..

So if anyone is wondering why they are being sold off cheap, there is your answer..

I bought the Shimano barrow last year for £99.

Having used it a few times, I have to say I'm well happy with it. I've been waiting to do a proper review in the reviews section when I've given it at least a years use, but here are my impressions so far:

It's easy to push around, even when loaded high. I would think you might have trouble down a tight path due to the width, but I haven't encountered this on a fishery yet. There are plenty securing points for bungee etc and this are attached securely to the frame. I have had no issues with the barrow wanting to tip over on its side. It's very stable. There is some play with the wheels on their axle, even though the nut is on tight. This hasn't caused any problems so far. I'm wondering if a washer or two would eliminate this?

This is my first barrow, so I can't compare it to other models, but For the price, I think this is a bargain. How will it fair up to long term use, I'm not sure. Time will tell. I will give a more in depth review And report any issues that crop later as already mentioned.
