Can anyone recommend a cork ball pop up maker?
I make my own,but have become tired trying to make them last in the water more than 6 hrs before you can easily peel the outer skin off.Before anyone asks I add a teaspoon of egg albumin to a one egg mix.
The lake I fish is clear and shallow and the bird life drive you mental!! Cheers

What about just using a wooden ball soaked in the flavour of your choice ?

Corkers and bird life don't mix imo buddy. You're better off with a real decent standard pop up in those situations.

Crushed cork makes a much tougher popup than a corkball and easier to make.

pair of tights I use to counter this, make them,once boiled and still warm warm,put the corkball in,twist it down as tights as I can and tie them off and the base mix just pops through the mesh.works a treat

Failing all these great suggestion you could use Mark Dean of Koda bait. Makes a truly rock hard corkball pop up. You can fi d him on Facebook.

Have you followed Matt's instructions ? ...think there's a sticky - but part of the process involved soaking the corkballs in egg too, and of course ensuring there is no air trapped. Also - do you sieve your base mix ? ...and how soluable is it ? ...as boycie suggested cork dust might be a better option if you're really struggling with a cork ball.
Never had any problems myself, in fact my own corkballs based on the BM1 mix last longer than the ones I bought from Matt submerged. But then the base mix he uses is probably a lot more soluable.

Oh well. If you dont already, try soaking your corkballs in egg, and sieve your base mix.
Think CCmoore do a cork ball maker, or at least here was talk of them making one. But to be honest, given the number I make it takes no time at all to knock up a couple of pots with a rolling table to make them perfect. And, I doubt a corkball maker from anyone would make them more resiliant underwater, unless you have say cracks or holes in the skin ?
