For me its blatently obvious mate.... i got good mates who use bait boats and as long as they are allowed fair enough but imo theres a huge difference bait boat is a step to far to far for me and it just does not sit right...but i accept its choice.

Why would you be concerned of any other opinion other than your own? I certainly would care a jot, especially half this blinkered brigade. Do your own thing and enjoy your fishing.

I tend to agree, as long as people dont upset others or ruin others fishing, it dont really matter that much in the grand scheme of things

I assume in all your time in angling you have used both row boats and bait boats OG?
A competent boat angler is not just finding a likely looking area on an echo screen and dropping the rig on it. They are prodding, leading, raking etc to find the best spot within that likely area.
I would also suggest that dropping a lead on a 2ft spot in 20ft of water on the middle of a large open lake, then towing back to the bank in a straight line against a crosswind requires a bit more skill/effort than moving some thumb controls.
But..I also agree,it's all only my opinion, people should fish how they want to fish and take merit where they want and s*d what anyone else thinks.

A boat is also safer for the fish as you can go out to a snagged fish to free it and visually seeing clearly what's between your swim and the spot being fished can be an advantage.
Sorry if I sound to be causing an argument, but on the above basis captures are more credible if you walk your gear to your peg, but don't count if you use a barrow, and should have been shot at birth if you ever dare to use a power barrow

yes of course I still got 2 inflatables and a couple of motors sold all my baitboats have owned 5 different ones used them all A hell of a LOT on big Lakes in France
and you can suggest what you like lol but it wont matter a jot in changing what in my opinion
is there is just as much skill in interpreting a echo sounder on a baiboats screen or a rowing boats screen
one could argue its a dam sight easier with a rowing boat as you can get confirmation by a pole if its shallow enough or looking over the side with an Aqua scope

I've not said anywhere that I'm anti them, they obviously make life easier and save time and can understand why some use them, each to there own. I'm fortunate that I don't fish busy venues so don't see people thrashing the water and I've not fished a venue that allows bait boats for over fifteen years. Good luck to any angler however they fish within the rules.
