The water I was on yesterday is limiting numbers to every other swim. They haven't actually closed swims. They've just said if you turn up an a swim is occupied, don't be a cock and drop in the swim next door (it's a small water)
Another one of my waters has provided hand gels and a spray by each set of gates. You are required to spray the lock before and after use. They have provided sprays for the toilet as well. Same applies. To be honest though they are limited number clubs, very well run, I'd expect it's much harder for day ticket waters to put in place the sort of controls that small clubs can. Luton angling club has 1500 members. Good luck controlling that lot.
I know we pay a lot to be members of proper syndicates and limited number clubs, put at times like these it seems money well spent.

A small aside her but if you are using a communal spray is that not the same as touching the lock ? Personal spray and gel is the way forward or gloves to get in and out of gate and dispose of once in or going out but make sure it's all in or out to save on plastic gloves

Sounds spot on that mate, well managed
It will be interesting to see how day tickets follow suit with the turn over and numbers they get. A bit of careful thought and I think they could do it? Booking based on numbers would be a start and then sorry, we are full
Bit of controversy. Other than breaking down and travelling etc. It made me wonder from the start if fishing was worth stopping. Over the last 3 or 4 years I have fished a few very quite waters on and off. In such circumstances you would not see a soul, drive there, fish and home

I will deffo have my own gel. Gates, locks, taps and communal areas are a serious concern. They reckon it needs to be >70% alcohol content too

We have plenty of water. You will find the water around me is pure, straight off the hills, not like that **** soup out of the Thames that you Southerners drink

Southerners don't get thames water, we it from unground springs filtered through the chalk of the south downs. The stuff off the Yorkshire hills is full of sheep and cattle excrement and farm chemicals.

Could do with teaching some of the numpties on the local park lake self caution.
I just walked my dog around the park, and obviously the lake. A mate of mine is fishing there, in a single swim where no-one can get close. Yet other swims have bivvies set up right next to each other, even touching.
He was horrified at a group of anglers in 3 bivvies in one swim sitting sharing cans etc.
I have had a number of lakes come up on my FB feed. Varioys venues have a bucket of soapy water and sponge by the gates to wash the locks, anglers on a booking basis only, and you must bring sanitiser and wipes.
I'm not fishing yet, AW still haven't given an opening date, and with the local park being rammed, i'm not going anywhere near there to fish.
I also don't fancy the local day ticket fisheries, one I bailiff, the fish just aren't my type. I'm not into catching 50 carp between 2-10lb, I do prefer my harder venue.
