We can look at all the reasons why Ali hasnt taken it off the market but the bottom line is he has done unrepairable damage to his own reputation and angling in general in continueing down this ridiculous denial when everyone bar a handful of clowns with vested interests have all agreed its a death/mouth tearing contraption that has no place in angling whatsoever and theres no way a clever man like him does not know this. But instead he has chosen the ignore and blame game and appealed to anglers who know no better.... shame on him.

I've legitimately had a nightmare where I was kidnapped and forced to fish for bloated pet carp at Grenville Lake using a magic twig - I don't think fishing gets any worse than that

It will be interesting to see if he attends any of the shows next year, as I feel this just isn't going away.
If they showcase the rig on ITV, I don't think it's going to the sport any favours. Personally I think we should be thinking of ways we can get it pulled from the shelves, because Mr ego isn't going to.

One of the big issues here is the fact he's target audience is the inexperienced day ticket angler who doesn't know there arse from there elbow. When the biggest and best clubs and day tickets in the country are banning it because it's not safe as well as no decent anglers coming out in support you know the product itself is unsafe. He deletes all comments that talk against it or have pictures of it being unsafe creating an eco chamber of arse lickers and noddys lapping it up.
We walk a fine line with the do gooders as it is and I can honestly say this tragic twig will result in more fish deaths than ever it's only going paint all us anglers with the same brush. It needs to be taken off the shelves but the likes of AD won't because it sells.
Think this is a slippery slope if not addressed sooner rather than later. Especially with it being showcased on t.v.

Totally agree. I know lads who have fished there. Could be moody at times but get it right and one heck of a reault is achievable.
From what I hear with the helping hands that were given prior to and during this session, a result was a formality!

Grenville, contrary to what some would have you believe, is not an easy water at all. Huge head of fish granted but blanks are common.
Believe it or not, the members are on the whole very relaxed about the "filming" weeks, which happen after the water has closed for its usual pre-spawning break. No members fish during these periods and the companies that do, (OMC, DNA, Fox etc) pay a premium for the privilege. Yes to a certain degree "normal" rules do not apply but not to the extent that the owner would allow anything to affect fish welfare.

If he permitted "that device" on there (I'm certainly not giving the brand a click on the video), then the owner of the lake clearly didn't exercise a sensible safe protocol in the way that you imply he 'must have' by virtue of his perceived fish care sensibilities.
No rational angler/lake owner can look at a permanently attached, "plastic anchor" with splaying arms and think its a safe item to chuck in one's lake.
