There are several studies; by the GLA, and the Independent Office For Police Conduct for starters. The Casey review concluded that the Met is misogynistic and homophobic aswell. Please don't try to undermine these studies in order to support your own misguided opinion. Feel free to dispute any points raised within the studies.
The Police are afraid of being labelled racist?
What difference does it make when we know the institution that they work in has been proven to be systemically racist? They are racists - all they're bothered about is being called out about it.

Now you just sound silly
A number of high profile investigations and public reports and your response is 'I know a few coppers' ?
As for grooming - one of the slugs who the police failed to investigate properly for the murder of Stephen Lawrence admitted in questioning to having a relationship with an underage girl. But they ignored that too - along with his involvement in the murder.. I wonder why an institutionally racist and misogynist organisation might do that eh?

Sorry I don't think my option is misguided.
Like I said I know a few coppers and I don't think they are racist, do you know any - did you have a bad experience :}
You can quote whatever study you like if it makes you feel better.but please support it with actual court action taken.

As I said, feel free to refute the points in the reports. Everything else is just noise.

Ditto noise
Please provide the court action taken against those individuals.

Hint - institutional racism needs to be dealt with at institutional level.
Here's a few anyway, though.
Racists
The points in the report? No?

You're not allowed your own opinion Jason, If you do you are called stupid or silly
They are convinced they are right.
They are the sort that disrespect the police in their presence and then wonder why the police get shirty with them.
As for the Rotherham girls, I'm sure they have an alternative reason to why there were treated like ****.
Of course there are bad coppers but that doesn't make every one of them bad.

I guess it should come as no surprise that a bunch of white, grey haired sixty year olds on here are sticking up for a bunch of white, grey haired sixty year old racist, misogynistic and homophobic ex-coppers. Maybe it's an authority thing?
Have a nice weekend chaps.

From 7 days ago in Manchester
Not long before a Manchester based police officer kicked and stamped the head of a man who was restrained and face down on the ground in a 'definitely not race related' assault ...
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cn38jz5zd47o
If you want to know why an institutionally racist organisation doesn't always prosecute its own for ... racist behaviour then you really do need to give your head a shake.
The large scale investigation reports are very thorough and clear. The follow up action is of course totally inadequate because it's the broken system policing itself.
I know some coppers too. And some ex coppers. And I can tell you that there's a mix of decent people - one ex copper who gives up his time for youth and community projects - and some who more than meet the criteria for racist / homophobic / outright nasty.
As said - its by no means all officers - I know that there's at least one who posts on here who fits the very decent person mould.
This thread was started by someone saying that kind of thing (blanket stereotype negativity) about some other people - quickly followed by the usual 'it's their culture' / 'they are all like that' type of response. But look now when it comes to this ... Can you spot the hypocrisy?

Nothing but ifs, buts and whataboutery. You're being silly and stupid.
You can convict the copper for unnecessary violence but you can't convict him of racism just because others in the force have been.
Maybe he's one of those decent types that you mentioned who just lost his cool after what he witnessed to his colleagues.
We all make mistakes, but that's not an excuse, he'll get what's coming to him ,and we the public don't want armed police who can't control themselves.
Talking of police mistakes what about those whoppers concerning the Rotherham girls?
As for the original post you'll notice I haven't commented on what happened in Leeds as I don't know the area.
@RKB
Resorting to ageism and stereotyping, what makes you think you know my views on homosexuals and misogyny. Or my real views on racism come to that.
You know nothing.

That's really wound you up hasn't it?
Not my intention - and clearly not putting you off doing it again in the rest of your post... 😁 Sarcasm aside, I'm not trying to p*ss you off.
I put that link in for Jason so that he might get an understanding of the institutionally racist context. If the idiot from the airport has been working / trained in that environment ... that however, is conjecture. Logical and perfectly reasonable, but still conjecture.
He's not a decent person. Decent people don't do that. We don't all 'make mistakes ' that involve nasty assault. IMHO
And yes, I agree. We absolutely don't want armed police who can't control themselves.
Rotherham? More terrible policing. And using 'the race card' as a reason for not doing their jobs and leaving young girls at risk ...? Just makes it worse.
Have a good evening you sensitive old git
