Well the marketing is working. I mentioned in another thread that my Mrs saw the gear on the GFA when I was watching it and she said the clothing looked nice. Got up this morning to a OMC gilet, I had absolutely no idea she'd got it and I never made any mention of wanting one - to be fair though it feels really good quality, is well padded and fits great.

Did it come in the wrapping paper?
You wouldn't catch my missus watching a fishing programme. She has no interest in fishing whatsoever, tuts at the very mention of it.
It got me thinking, how many partners are like mine and how many will sit down and watch it on tv.

My wife isn't normally game for watching a fishing show, although has watched a few minutes of monster carp here and there but is a good shopper for fishing gear.
This year I have a Kumu hoody and have previously had a Matrix Bulldog MK2, Savage Gear pro folding net, Chub cradle and an ESP retainer. All stuff she has seen me looking at in the months prior to Xmas/birthdays and made a note of.

My wife won't watch stuff like monster carp but quite likes Mortimer and Whitehouse,she is good at getting me fishing pressies though.I had my Tech mgs for my birthday and my dymag mk3 net for another present for our wedding anniversary

To who? No pretentious bell ends where I fish. It's a nice present and not something I expected seeing as we've just spent £100k doing up the house.

I think it's quite a nice gesture from your wife...
my missus buys me clothes to go fishing in cos apparently i look like a tramp when i just use my old clothes.... Would i pick them myself. Probably not, but its nice she's took the time and effort to do a bit of research into something she has no interest in whatsoever, its not the gift that counts its the thought behind it......

I tried to get my missus to watch Bob and Paul, she walked out after 2 minutes.
So the chances of her buying me anything to do with fishing is zilch.
Personally I don't see it as a problem, if I had to sit and watch her programmes I'd have to suffer 'Real Housewives of somewhere or the other'
