It doesnt help the amount of people that slated the product before its reveal, and the amount of posts before and since, where peoples personal feelings about Ali hamidi are bought into the debate.
In particular, the comments made before the release give the argument about Ali haters some credit

Regardless to some peoples views about ali which may be a fair point that shouldn't stop all his followers from being able to think for themselves and recognise the fish safety flaws in this product and its potential as a death rig.
I still cannot understand anyone that defends it and thinks this is a safe product to use

No it doesnt stop them thinking for themselves, but it does give them something to use as a comeback against rational arguments doesnt it, which is exactly what they are doing. People will see what they want to see, and use the irrational, Ali is a knobhead comments, against rational arguments being made against the product.

Some, myself included, banned the Twig (all loaded self hooking rigs) before even seeing it purely on the basis of it (them) being unethical.
Once I saw the rig for the first time I knew it was a very bad design from a fish welfare point of view. It's as clear as day.
Ali's attitude towards fishery owners who banned it and anglers that voiced their concerns about it is absolutely disgraceful and I have absolutely zero respect for him as a man now.

I was on the live chat that Ali did with the fishery management group.
I wish it was recorded, but I doubt OMC would have released it as they were really struggling with the questions and points against it that were pointed out.
Very naive of OMC and Ali to think this is a worthy product.

Yeah, but banning something based on its mechanics, is different from slating something before youve even seen it, and bringing personal opinions about someone involved, into that argument.

Ali is well, Ali. I used to think he was loud but seemed a decent sort however since this debacle, he's taken on quite a different external image; not a particularly endearing or marketable one.
Whatever one does or does not think of him, there is simply no escape from the fact that the item he is directly responsible for bringing to market is ill thought out and fundamentally flawed on safety grounds.
What may or may not have been said about him before or after the item's release is one matter but the way he is now responding to the public and those involved at the supply level of this sport (i.e. lake owners) is frankly unfathomable; from a person that has an education based in marketing. There's a time for contrition and self awareness in order that they maximise any chance of winning back vast swathes of the public that can see right through this danger device. He seems hell bent on ignorance and argument and I can only assume that is because he has dug in so.deeply, there's no way out for him. This really has a very worrying end to it I fear. I hope he is able to see some sensible way out of what's happening. When a fish eventually is found tethered to this, which will happen, the real problems will begin for him and heaven knows what he ends up thinking and doing.

All that is saying to me is they cannot think for themselves and are backing what i fully believe is a very dangerous item of tackle on the grounds of ali is disliked, that is anything but a rational defence and shouldn't be used a comeback.

Still goes back to the first live video he did I'm afraid , " look they bend back and snap " 😲😲😲 , but it did not and he fluffed around with it in his hand , game up at that point .

Just been to Angling Direct (where they didn't have what I wanted) and they had some Twigs in stock so had a look. Looks and feels like a prototype. Bloke behind the counter tells me that they're selling by the bucketload, in shops and online.

Yeah to all the people that want to look at them and make up their mind. Our club bought 2 packs, so did about 5 of my friends. No wonder they are selling. Can imagine half of not more of sales will be one time sales of this nature.

However, I don't think anyone thought it would be worse than what it actually is. EVERYTHING about the release has been shocking. What doesn't surprise me though, is the sheer nauseating adoration by grown men for another male who merely sells pieces of plastic for a living, and will quite happily put carp at risk just to get a "like" on facebook, as seen by the equally as nauseating pre planned videos and pictures of recent captures

Yes, I think a lot of sales will be to the people who are curious to see it for themselves. I can't see the repeat sales doing so well.
