I got told it was Heapy, no idea which one.
No one is doing over-nighters on either lake, Can't say the same for some other waters in the area thou
In fact a couple of prospective new members were due to meet up Sunday morning, but when one texted me saying they would be late as their gear was frozen - they got a swift reply "Dont F-in bother coming!"

It's not the night itself, its the time. If I could nightfish i could travel across the country for a session. You're not going to do an 8 hour round trip for 4 hours on the bank. The aim is to stop people travelling.

Yes, but just ban travel over 10miles to a lake but allow night fishing, make clubs and syndicates enforce it, no different to any other rule needing to be enforced.

It's been said before on this thread the problem is those who fish overnight so they can have a social and drink and drink with social distancing going out of the window. And the 1 in 3 who display no symptoms can easily pass the virus on.
It's that minority which has ruined it for all, the numpties that still go in shops with no masks etc etc.
If these idiots just did what they were told we'd be night fishing by now.
What club / syndicate if going to have the manpower to ensure rules are adhered to and are members really going to challenge those misbehaving? And who wants to risk their name being damaged their lease not being renewed...

We just have to accept the rules mate there is no point banging on about this or that
Things will get back to normal

I understand exactly where you're coming from mate. This poxy lockdown lifestyle is awful. This has been so long and restrictive because we've made too many exemptions in the past year. Even when we had a foot on it's throat in the summer. Poor leadership in my view but we are where we are. With vaccines and rules we'll have to put up with it's the only way to get us out quickest.

Of course not, the whole local movement is abit of a joke, some saying 5 miles, 10, I personally think anything up to 15 miles is local, but that's my opinion. But dont worry the AT are pushing again for more members, they will soon sort it out, or most likely over complicate a pretty simple situation

I'm sure local is classed as same postcode district...quiet recently i was walking the dog in a local park, and the police were at the entrance turning people away...i was ok as the park was in my postcode region and I walked there. I had a brief chat with one of the police officers and was advised that the definition of local in the current lockdown has been clearly defined by the government and basically is your town / village. I live in sunny Liverpool and have to stay within my district of Liverpool, so depending on then size of your district i would say local was within 2 to 3 miles max....

Let's be honest, if you are intelligent enough to create a log in on an Internet forum, you are intelligent enough to know what local is...
People want to bend the rules to suit there own agenda, no one can honestly say they think 10 miles away is local..you could argue say if you live in London compared to Glasgow 10 miles away is local, but we all know if we are using liberal terms to the “local” guidelines.
Would you say a corner convenience shop 10 miles away is your local shop....no you wouldn't....local does not mean nearest.....
