This forum, the occasional YouTube clip for some info on a bit of tackle I've bought second hand ( ATTX receiver was the last one) very occasional TV prog.
I no longer read the comics but they're mostly dead now.
Now I'm famous and well known I suppose I should have a Facebook thingy and a blog/vlog so my fans can follow me easier.

Well I've heard of you, Neil, and I have followed you (in a non-stalker sort of way) since you first joined. I think we registered more or less at the same time, and if you remember I got dog's abuse from all and sundry when I first posted. You were one of the few that stood up for me...You don't forget things like that!

I'm very similar. I look on here regularly, I avoid all fishing stuff on Facebook, there is some good stuff on Youtube (I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the latest Eurobanx) and I have a handful of pages on Instagram which I follow for the quality of the photos and the history pics....subsurface, Jordan Realtree, Rich Wilby and a handful of others.

nowt wrong with selves, ive got both mine and shoulders inked

Funny that John Wilson and Dick Walker get touted as the famous ones when both could be aloof or downright rude when met. Do you want to be famous of liked?
I was (for a short while) 'known' in barbel circles and felt embarrassed when recognised out and about and especially when folk eyed my swim thinking that they'd blag it as soon as my back was turned. I also realised that if you are sponsored every fish you catch is for somebody else's benefit and those days when you just want to relax and have a dabble, there is pressure to catch something notable for a publicity shot.
Sod that. I fish for myself when and how I want and with gear that suits me.
Mind you, it seems that everybody under the age of about 35, is happy to do absolutely anything for their 15 minutes. TV is built around that principle.

One person I'd like to give a nod to during all this is Julian Cundiff. The man has been doing a "behind the photo" series on instagram, whereby he explains the back story behind the capture, the venue, the atmosphere, the clobber. It's been great to look at.
One thing I have also noticed is the abundance of teenagers spam following thousands in an attempt to get noticed. They seem to retract that follow when you do not reciprocate! Plenty seem to spam hashtag X tackle/bait company (yet not recieving a penny or a pot of pop ups) and shouting about "Urban Banx" with green fields with miles around!
Just because your pond is in the middle of a village, doesn't make it urban. Do 48 hours in SE28 and see if you still like the **** that I put up with for a decade
