Its worth noting he's changed some of the recipes as well.
I used to use the Pro Cell Pineapple but he's dropped the Cell Activator for a cheaper alternative.
Plus the baits look horrible now as they are cork dust based.

On the assumption that a carp accepts a zig as a hatching insect on its way to the surface it has to decide very quickly to eat it or not. They are used to this scenario. A bottom bait is not going anywhere and they can pick and choose what to eat or not. Just my theory.

IMO the quality of the hook bait matters.
A well formulated (alternative) hookbait using decent nutritional ingredients is a vital part of the whole jigsaw IMHO.
