One thing's for sure, Boris won't be dictated to by the Welsh, Irish or Scots, I suspect the discussions with each devolved leader didn't go well on Thursday, hence them all announcing their own positions before Sunday......and they all said their decisions would not be politically motivated....🤔

In a way I hope Boris doesn't make too many changes and is in line with Wales just to make my life clearer. I live in Newport, so just in Wales and fish just the other side of the border, so England being allowed to fish and me not allowed to get there will be very hard to take

I totally agree it was in UK earlier than the media reported. Bear in mind Coronavirus was in China and causing major problems in November.
Flu like symptoms, dry cough, etc, all symptoms of coronavirus.
I know through the winter at work there was some 'bugs' going round. My Reception Manager at the hotel had a severe cold, sneezes and sore throat. I had a sore throat, headaches and cough. I ached so bad my gums and teeth ached! Other staff were off with various symptoms, and my restaurant manager did have to go to hospital with severe flu symptoms.
If that is the case, it is quite possible we have peaked, because it has been passed onto everyone already. The loosening of lockdown will not result in many new cases.

My Mum and 2 other people I know had severe Flu like symptoms around Christmas, it was so bad for my Mum she couldn't make Christmas Day dinner at our house....she had classic symptoms of what we now know as Covid-19, it came in waves over a month, she would start to feel better then deteriorate again a few days later, she battled for breath and had a persistent dry cough as well....

A lot of confirmed flu around that time.
Some of it h1n1 (swine flu) and h3n2 (also a swine/avian flu) plus others which have similar symptoms.
That must make it hard to differentiate and assumption can be the mother of all **** ups...

100% mate, I'm not saying she definitely had it and probably didn't but there are lots of different but very similar strains as you say.

Yeah that's what I meant. I had a stinker around that time, missus had something that wouldn't shift and gp said it's probably some type of virus that they won't test for but should clear up..
When you read that annually we have bird and swine flu doing the rounds it's no wonder people feel awful but some obviously had cv19. We can't even get masks for nurses, so I suppose the way they went is to assume that we're all at risk still and lock us up because you can't test 60 million people or let it run riot

I drive 10 miles each weekday to work on a busy construction site with 30 other blokes where the 2 meter rule simply isn't possible, passing loads of cyclists and joggers and past some allotments with 5 or 6 cars always in its car park . I drive right past the gates of my club water on the way to work each day which is 2 miles from my house and even in “normal “ times I will often have acres of lake to myself . Ridiculous that I can't go fishing really.
Let's hope something happens after Sunday's update.

There was definitely a different virus doing the round around xmas and just before. I had that in November and lots had it around xmas that was definitely different to what I had in february, it was runny nose sneezing all standard cold like stuff but worse. The feb one caused me to be put on 2 different sets of antibiotics, dry cough that turned to bronchitis and had liquid on my lungs, lost my voice, couldn' laugh without going into a coughing fit. One lady I work with had exact same.. her friend had come back from 'known dodgy country' and had same symptoms, got a test and tested positive..

Until there is a reliable antibody test no one will know for sure whether or not they have had it, around christmas time something went through work that most of us picked up , high temperatures several nights on end i woke up dripping with sweat dry cough, sore throat, headaches that went on for weeks .
At this time quite a few went to the doctors and were just told it was a virus, was this covid19 we wont know but if it was it came back in work around the time of the lockdown , some of the same people had the same symptoms again if it was covid 19 they didn't become immune to it and caught it again, all this was far too early for any of us to be tested.

Had exactly the same end of Feb,picked my boy up from work early because he had come down with what we thought was the flu and within an hour i had come down with it.ive had the flu jab and know that I still might get it but had nothing like that before the fever was unbearable and my chest was f####d for ages lasted around 10 days and in the last day was gasping for air,the symptoms I've had over last week have merely been of a cold.Still not had my test results for cv19 yet been 6 days so dont know weather it is a cold or not yet

I think we have been fed this false image that it sort of spread up from Europe like the Nazi flags at the beginning of Dad's Army, like the English Channel is the great disease barrier. But in reality with the way we travel nowadays and the fact that we have several major airports all over the country not to mention Heathrow (which is THE main air Hub in Europe), if Europe was riddled with it so were we, it' s only since it was identified it has become a 'thing'

my mums house is under the flight path for heathrow, albeit the number of planes flying over her house is less than 4 months ago, its still a plane every few mins, and not the cargo planes. Quarantine should have been installed straight away or even turning planes back until we knew what was going on tbh.
