Absolutely agree but you cannot put dickheads having house parties and queuing up at B&Q and KFC in the same bracket as an angler wanting to sit, on his own by a lake or a group of 2 or 4 blokes walking around a Golf course.
Yes there are idiots who take the piss and break the rules, always have been, always will be you just have to account for them.

The lock down will finish when the Government can no longer afford to hand out free money, and the true picture emerges of the figure for the loss of business revenue, the amount of businesses going bust and the mass increase in new unemployed.
All of a sudden the R figure staying below 1 will be forgotten, and anyone on furlough will be told to go back to work.
I give it until June.....

I don't mate, I can see that angling by yourself is safe, that is a fact, however we do have a lot of clowns in this country that cannot or won't follow a simple instruction and are making this more difficult to manage, allowing a free for all will cause even more problems.
For example have a look at the news of 3 complete whoppers that decided to go to the coast from Slough, got stuck on the coastline and a heli + boat had to go and rescue them, you can't make it up.
All we need is a little bit of patience to get things under control then the valve can be released in a controlled manner and it would be very reasonable to expect to see sports like fishing and golf getting let off the leash early.
I'm just watching the latest figures and we still have 11500 in hospital, 4500 new cases and 600 death's, I personally don't see that as us having this under control, I wish it was as I would love to be out on the bank and can't wait until we can, in a safe and controlled manner.

4500 new cases....they are testing more, (96,000 yesterday) so there's obviously going to be more positive cases and only a very small percentage will be seriously ill....a lot of them would never have known they even had it if they hadn't been tested.
The 600 deaths have happened over a period of time, not just the last 24 hours.

Some of those in hospital will have caught it there too, I know of an elderly person that went in healthy but with a broken bone and didn't come out again.
I know there's idiots out there, got several bbq's and soirées in the estate daily.. but a high percentage of infections are from the key workers themselves, sadly

You can't compare the lockdown with the war and VE day, it would be totally disrespectful to do so, the circumstances are completely different.
It is quite obvious that the spread of infection is largely confined to care homes and hospitals, the rate of infection in the community is relatively miniscule.....that is why people are getting frustrated and want things to start to get back to normal.
The chances of contracting or passing on the virus playing Golf or going fishing are beyond remote so those wanting a return to such activities should not be belittled for hoping the restrictions will be lifted enough to allow them to do so.
The truth is that the spread of infection in the community is everywhere, many probably had it with minimal symptoms. The sad fact that many with no symptoms, nurses, doctors, carers and care home staff quite probably took it into care homes. Then it was likely taken into hospitals by people with no symptoms, for other illnesses or injuries, but carrying coronavirus.
France has discovered cases going back to December, it is likely it was in Britain then or not long after. The first hospital case was on 24th January, it is extremely unlikely it was the first. The lockdown was TWO MONTHS after, when it will have been passed on very quickly.

My family all had it end of feb for sure.. my neighbor's and loads of people I know too.. which is why it's so frustrating, I've already had it but I'm confined to my house and going crazy not being able to fish. I was a bit pissed off to be honest because at the time of having it I spoke to 111 on several occasions and this was before the lockdown, noone was interested they said as I hadnt been to one of the 'at the time' countries where it was widespread it was unlikely I had it... I worked from home for 2 weeks on my own accord then lock down started, I've been home 9 weeks. Had enough now, took the kids for a 2 mile walk after dinner, all the people having street parties getting trollied and I cant sit on a lake on my own in solitude for my mental health, it's a joke and I'm getting a bit pissed off with it.
I'm going to add to this actually..
I have a dodgy gallbladder and now chronic pancreatitis, I have been trying to get diagnosed and sorted since 2017 constantly in pain and always told as I'm young and 'not in a high risk category' it's likely just anxiety.. NO! anyway I had to push and push eventually got an ultrasound, oh crap yes you need an op now!.. then i get a letter op cancelled until further notice.. cant drink alcohol it kills me bc of the pancreas.. all they can do is give me prescription codiene for the pain.. great, get me hooked on opioids as well that's really going to help.. sorry I've actually had enough with the NHS basing the fact of whether they are going to put you for any tests on your age!

back in december the press published news of higher levels of flu cases and more people visiting the surgery and A&E with flu like symptons, more possible evidence coronavirus was in the UK last year.
