Had a set of txi from Leslie's of Luton that went “missing” from my loft in Pembrokeshire.
IMHO great alarms and probably wouldn't have traded them in as my fishing is really sporadic so they would have been hardly used.
Seems like a good deal though.

Simple solution to the water issues people had with delks, stop putting them in a rubber case that holds moisture. Fabric case which absorbs moisture from the alarms are better. It's pretty obvious yet no one seemed to realise it.
Got 6 OG txi alarms. All work fine apart from things of my own doing like being heavy handed when changing a battery or something. Long will they continue to live as well.

Whilst sorting a fish out the other night I accidentally kicked my bank stick out of the ground and in to the water (and didn't notice) . Went to recast and couldn't see my alar, then pulled the bank stick and new delkim out of the water. After 5 days drying out it seems to be working perfectly. If it survives total submersion for 5 minutes or so then I'll be dead impressed, so far so good.

I was fishing in France when the Typhoon came thru it picked up my 4 rods on a rod pod and dumped the lot in 16 feet of water in the lake
took well over an hour to retrieve it all
I took the batteries out of the 4 TXI`s dried them with a towel and was back fishing with them in an hour

I agree that the rubber cases were not a great idea and never used them. TXI+ still going strong and never an issue. Wouldn't surprise me if many of those who had issues put wet alarms into a rubber case.
ATTS have a complete rubber case. Never any problems whatsoever with moisture. The only top end alarms that constantly suffer from moisture problems are Delkim.
What I am about to say is going to upset some of you. Get a tissue and dry your eyes in advance. I don't mean to upset you, it's just the truth.
Carp anglers, they are a funny old breed. They buy a set of alarms, always have the same alarms.... And those alarms are the BEST, better than ALL the rest, go on Tina.
New age Delkim's are not all that. Yes, you might have been lucky and got a set that did not let in water. But to many do, far to many. To a point they can barely be used in the rain. So get over your pre programmed “my buzzers are the best” cos the media told me so.... And deal with the fact that they are not. I borrowed some once when I left mine at home. It rained, and two out of the four did not work. The reed things detecting sensitivity on two were junk as well. I've seen soooooooo many poor anglers on the bank literally ruined by Delkim in harsh weather. So many. All coincidence? Of course it is not. Many big pits you might have white capped waves constantly throwing water over your alarms. Try using Delkim. You'll learn. Fast.
I have zero affiliation with any tackle company. Never have had with Fox. Their alarms are by far the best. DXR, LXR.... Bombproof. I purchased some of the new Mini Micron X with the receiver. They played up a bit, just one. I outed them straight away, sold the 3 good ones dirt cheap to a friend. Got NTXR instead. It could have easily been RX. I just got a great deal on 4 brand new NXTR from a Fox consultant who had to move over to RX. Fox alarms do not let in water. The indication system itself does not deteriorate like Delkims do with that reed thing or whatever it is. Load of crap. Bring out a bombproof roller alarm that does not let in water. I'll buy them. Until then, you lot can all keep ‘em.

There cant be any denying a lot of people have had problems with Delkims
and water ingress as after spending out shed loads of money on a set they are very vocal about it ! and I cant blame them
but it does not stop the many thousands myself included that havent had a seconds problems and fished in biblical storms for many many years
and I have owned and used most alarms starting with the Heron Optonics fox Nash steve neville ATTS JRC Prologic to name a few
currently I still own and have used from time to time my 4 TXIs . 3 Nash R1s a pair of JRC radar CX and 3 Prologic BAT3 PLUS
all brilliant alarms but my go to is the Delkim unless fishing a pod on the river where takes can be so violent it sets the other alarm off
I have had nothing but 100% reliability in all the years I have used my delkims !

Strangely enough, when I worked in a tackle shop we had very few Delkims returned. In most cases it was user error rather than tackle fault.
If the customer was still convinced the alarm was at fault, whether it was or not, I would return it to Delkim, who would replace/repair within a week.
Fox alarms though, I regularly had returned with failures, which was a real pain in the backside as we had two order systems, direct from Fox, and from Leeda, and I would have to return the alarm back to the correct supplier we got it from. Hours of checking serial numbers and orders...
I never had any Gardner TLB's returned.
The other problem was Fox's regular 'updating' models. Within 2 years a model could be obsolete, so we could have alarms we couldn't sell as they were out of date, yet couldn't return them for the latest model.
In terms of Delkim reliability I've mentioned my ST's being submerged and working after.
My TXI d's have been out in some pretty wet conditions, storms so heavy that despite the sensitivity being turned down, so many raindrops hitting the line that they bleep during the storm, but are fine after its stopped, working properly.

Had the new ones years and they're fantastic. 2 years on a big wind swept pit in all conditions. Even lost my Bivvy a few times it gets that bad. And still zero issues with the delkims.
Like any product there's always an element of risk of failure. But I'd always go with a brand I can talk direct to and have the best service. And delkim tops that by a county mile

2 lads I no locally. Both their fox alarms filled with water. Drained out the back. Like I said it can happen and does happen to most products. And fox did sod all about it
