agree, EA would look into if enough proof comes to light, as would the FSA and local authorities

Shame of it is. If I find out someone's had a big hit of fish now from my tickets, especially new members, I look at it with suspicion first and admiration second. I used to immediately think, nice one, good angling, well done. I don't anymore.

Too be fair, this stuff isnt easy to get hold of, you'd have to be extremely close to a vet who is willing to let you have someone

Yes but look at a lot of the bait manufacturers. Many of them started out as animal/seed merchants first and branched out into angling. Many of them continue to supply both. I'm sure there's a huge cross over between industries.
Now this is complete speculation obviously, but you could see it happening. Let's say i make boilies, and I want my anglers to appear to be superhuman superstars because of using my bait. Now let's also say that my other business supplies a load of local farmers who I've dealt with for years. Maybe I suggest to them that I could do them a favour if they do me a favour. They've got a genuine prescription for say twenty bottles, but actually they only use eighteen bottles, cos a proportion of their pigs/cattle naturally come into season, or maybe someone accidentally broke a bottle. Etc.
I can give you a real world example of this. One of my customers is a sheep farmer. I've got him out of trouble when his boiler packed up a couple of times. Guess where my Lamlac comes from?

sorry for my naivety, is this stuff that well controlled? with a few google searches ive found out what the stuff appears to be, never be anything id even look at using as it obviously a dangerous chemical. reading the replies its like its real lock and key stuff.

A lot of them are based in farm buildings. Most of them need to be to buy in ingredients as you cant get bulk orders of DEFRA categorised things to premises which arent licensed to have them. Business units and homes for example. However a business renting a farm unit doesnt need to worry as the farm address will be licensed. The sort of relationships you're talking about already exists to some extent.
My colleague's wife is a vet & works for a veterinary pharmaceutical company, he runs his family farm too. I asked him about it and how easy it was to get hold of. His response was that no vet would ever risk their license for such a odd reason, but once prescribed the farmers arent really regulated on what they do with it so it'd be quite easy if you know someone. He did mention that this stuff is so easy to get in Europe and importing via the post would go unnoticed, apparently it's happened within agriculture with other things in the past as they've become more regulated or banned in the UK.

Nothing, but if the pastime wasn't in a bad enough place already ffs.
In a match situation I would class it as cheating and an unfair advantage. The bigger problem for me is those monkeys that were using it at bluebell and the likes trying to claim fame with their big hits, makes a mockery of the pastime and all the genuine folk fishing there, catches seriously tarnished due to hormone use and the most important bit, it casts a cloud over all the genuine people's catches and will continue to do so, anybody having a result will be a suspect and that's wrong
