That is simply incorrect , a kiting fish on a tight line taking or dropping back very slightly will register on a roller
Sorry, it does not.
I have watched takes on a roller wheel buzzer where the indicator did not move, and the buzzer stayed silent. The fish moved in a perfect arc with a semi-fixed lead.
I've seen it happen with Optonics, with 2 and 4 blade vanes, Fox Microns and Gardner TLB's.
The answer if possible, is to come away from semi-fixed leads and go to running leads with a slack line.
And yes, even Delkims can have the same problem if there is constant vibration on the line from undertow, current and you have had to drop the sensitivity to counter that.

I've had this happen with roller alarms. As suggested the answer is to switch to a running lead. A fairly heavy one too.

I would say that was pretty standard then for a lot of waters. Try and find one now without carp in!, in some form or another anyway!

Sounds more like user error. If the bobbin is matched to the scenario it takes little movement to register on a delkim.
Feeding fish on a spot causes liners / indication so I can't see a rig being moved a matter off meters and not indicate.
Specially if using a heavy lead as you find they tend to bolt when hooked.

Totally agree with your comments Goose. I've had Txid and Rx+ and prefer the Wolf to both. Ive had them since they were released and used them in all weathers home and abroad. Faultless.

At the end of the day they are all superb alarms and you wont go wrong with any of them. All of them do everything you could ever want from a bite alarm.
