Ive got the Seat Tarraco with 7 seats, pretty, much the same vehicle from the VW group.
Lovely motor to drive, a great family vehicle but I wouldn't say its very spacious, the 2 seats that pop out the floor take up so much room in the boot. Prob better off looking at a 5 seat version.
I can get just about as much gear in my 2003 Nissan Primera with the seats folded down.

Ive got a 2015 VW caddy - had a combo before that and a 3 series estate before that - mujch prefer the van but hard to justify if you want to ferry the kids about as well then the estate is prob the better option
Personally I love it much like others I have a motorbike ramp and wheel the power porter in and out
In fact due to the crazy market and used vehicles I could get my money back if I sold it today

I don't have the parking space where i live or i would 100% go for a cheap bangers of a van for my fishing gear and then have a nicer small car for running about it.
I currently have a for Kuga which is great for fishing and a good balance for family/ fishing use as the seats drop easily and give enough room.

Ever since i bought a van purely for fishing i woudnt go back to any type of car for carrying anything that gets dirty/smelly ... however I am different to some of the other guys, i would always want a car/s also

when i had my Rangey, i also had a T5...i use the T5 purely for fishing and racing bikes...i found myself not using the rangey at all, only trouble was, i couldnt take clients out in the t5 with it sticking of dogs, fishing kit, petrol etc
so, when i looked at the M-sport, i did everything that both vehicles could....
flogged T5, flogged rangey, bought M-Sport Transit, and got money in back pocket...happy days

Sorry real hooligans race on the iom, tracks are more forgiving, having said that I still managed to knock myself out and dislocate my thumd at brands. Sixty three now and still do more road miles on the bike than in the car.

I went from a Corsa to a Van. I love my Berlingo, and has two booster seats in it for the school run, but next time round I'll probably hedge my bets and get an estate.

i stand corrected...IOM lot aint right
Trackdays are fine if one is in the two lower groups, fast group tends to the more serious, including racers.
when racing, some of the BSB are in it....foook me, i thought i was decent

Yep, lots of guys soon realise that it wasn't thier bike that was slow after all after they hit the fast group. One lap of the iom should be enough to show any biker how talentless they are and just how skilled the racers are. Anyway would love to carry my fishing kit on the bike but its just not possible.

Yes - would consider a VW Golf estate like a Passat. Probably a Passat over the two as I looks to hold more in space terms.
Like already mentioned, I need to ensure a wide bedchair can fit inside and have enough space for rod holdall down the side of it.
Quite like the look of an XC 60 or 90. Surprised no one has mentioned this yet as I thought they would be popular for a family/fishing vehicle.

Wifes got an XC60, nice machine, fair bit of room, but id defo go for the XC90 for that extra bit of room

I've gone from Transit Connect LWB to a Discovery 4 and now own a Skoda Superb Estate - Loads of room and good MPG.Only gripes i have are that i have to dismantle my Barrow and it is a low Car to get in and out of.

I certainly wouldn't buy 2nd hand, I've just sold my Mustang for 6k more than I bought it for in February, we ordered a new car in September and it's a 6 month waiting list, order now it's over 12 months. Even more for Hybrid and electric.
We bought our car brand new for 8k less than ones on the forecourt.
