I can't comment on Chris Brown as I don't know how he produces his stuff. Does he employ loads of staff and have a state of the art thousands of square ft factory to pay for? Or does he have a little unit with only a couple of people or turn it out on a lathe in a workshop at his home?
Overheads are all relevant. You could make an excellent bait at home for £3.50 a kilo but you ain't walking into a tackle shop and buying sticky krill for that are you?

I will say I've never had any jag stuff “fall apart” in fact my pod I have still looks brand new and I've had it a while now, I will agree the catapult is a bit much but I can see the appeal of it. Jag on a whole knocks out some very good gear and there customer service is brilliant.

Thinking about it, I reckon the JAG catapult may be worth buying on the ease of changing elastics alone, I have had my ESP pult (had a couple) for years, not only lost a couple of the brass elastic connectors when the elastic gives way or being changed but it's a pain in the arse to change elastics and then worrying about whether they are going to slip.

Agree, cannot see why people are getting so bothered about a £25 catapult 😂.. Many of times whilst on a baiting mission I've had my elastics go or pop off, trying to get em back soaked in hemp juice is a royal pain in the ass... And then they just slip off again, if this speeds up the process and makes it easier then it's money well spent in my eyes... ditched a Korda and an esp catty last season due to em keep popping apart mid fling and spunking bait all over myself and watching that green securing ball on the Korda disappear into the undergrowth never to be found again... Leaving me with a bucket of bait and a mile walk back to the car to get another catty... I'm getting one 🤪

I saw one after reading the thread and ordered one. My Korda one is bloody useless, always having the elastic pull off the pouch. I'm not going to be buying all the extras so for 30 quid it's got to be better than what I have

I think the £70 price tag for the equivalent of 4 catapults, one frame, 4 elastic and pouch sets caused the confusion

Most people i come across these days, myself included, have a ludicrous £400 worth of stupid Chinese made piece together Nash baiting pole. This catapult is pocket change

That's like comparing apples to oranges.
They're one of the lightest reels around which makes casting at big distances easier. Was having a convo with a guy last week about reels, the guy is well able to cast at 180yds who uses Basia's. When I asked him why, he said it was because it aids his casting with the reels being as light as possible giving him the ability to generate more lead speed. Simple physics.
