I enjoyed it but I'm old skool and enjoyed the look back. There were a few things he said which I found myself recognizing and agreeing with but the one about fishing with some of the hero's of time and realising they were just average was bang on. Pretty much everyone can catch the biggest Carp in the lake if they spend enough on time there, It happened then and it happens now but good luck to them as it also takes a lot of sacrifice. I could have done with another hour to hear more stories and more about his catches tbh. I also think that actually took a lot for him to do the podcast in the first place, the body language was typical of someone really pushing themselves in a situation they would rather not be in, although he settled down nicely about half way through and seemed to end up enjoy it.

Everyone has personality flaws TeeCee, all of us, I have no problem with that. But anyone that thinks this guy is "following the teachings of Buddha" has as poor an understanding of Buddhism as him imo. I'm no expert, but I know enough to call BS on this.

i will say, bloody fair play to Korda for giving him a free reign, most would have edited 90% of his words out and im not just on about the swearing. He had lots of pops at the whole trade, including Korda!

I agree Joss, fair play to them. It did make my chuckle when he accused them (Korda) of stealing his ideas and then backed it up by saying if he was a product developer he'd be the best one by a mile. Such modesty

Hope I don't come over as a dick trying to get into an argument as that's not my intention with this post; I'm super cool here 👍
I can't remember him saying he was following the teachings of anyone; he did mention Buddha though. He did say he was a spiritual person quite a few times.- can't stand that spiritual tag, sounds so flakey. Hearing what he said about being in the moment, it rang a huge bell for me as he has obviously read whatever teachings from whatever school, be they Daoism, Buddhism etc about *being present* and *in the moment*, i think that was all he was trying to relay, just being, not that he was some great sage imparting his wisdom upon all hearing it, far from it as he said himself many times.
With the exception of only two people I've ever met who are following the path, most are deeply flawed individuals with their own personal struggles and idiosyncrasies who you wouldn't have the slightest idea sat cross legged on a zafu for hours at a time following the breath or that contemplated their own personal Koan handed down by a master unless they told you, and even if they did tell you, more than likely you'd go "really, didn't have you down as one of those."
I've met some proper bellend highly practiced teachers myself in the past, but funnily enough, sometimes the worst teachers are the very best.
Here's something worth contemplating from Shunryu Suzuki:
