There was a Troll who came on here about 8 or 9 years ago.
Started a thread about casting 180 yards with a cheap set up. Got a few bites straight away.
Then started up numerous threads causing mayhem. Within a week he had really brought the forum to a halt with 90% of posts being replies to his increasingly ***** threads.
He then overstepped the mark by taking the piss out of a young lad asking basic questions and calling him names and giving him a hard time in general. It turned ou the young lad had a particularly bad illness and just getting out there fishing was an act of bravery and defiance in the face of his illness. I remember it well because I challenged him and got full trolling mode off him.
Strange thing was that in between his obvious delight in causing mayhem he obviously knew his stuff. His references to Cassien etc were spot on so he was either well read on the subject or had first hand experience. Just a shame he had some character defect that he had to cause chaos to get noticed

It's be playing on my mind for sometime now and brought to the forefront of my mind as there's a few match guys at the place I work getting into carp fishing with me having to correct the language... ..."not a peg mate, it's a swim," with them badgering me for knowledge of waters and guest tickets - not happening as there's a no guests rule were I fish, so tough luck noddance, shuffle off to your pool that's crammed full of pasties with their faces smashed in.
I've not got anything against match anglers per se, just that the mentality that they bring with them in certain circumstances has been a big disservice to carp angling generally. What they've brought to the table has changed things in many ways, some for the good and others, not so much.
I appreciate that their tactics are highly effective and that they as anglers can be highly efficient, which can be highly enlightening and pretty impressive to watch, but calling a swim a peg when there's clearly no number where I'm fishing just ain't the one chief.

Told them about some waters local to them that are well worth a shout. One of the guys I think is quite a top rod when it comes to match fishing and would more than likely be very successful when it comes to catching carp.
