Completely unrelated to TH, but a kid came swaggering along the bank of my syndi proclaiming he was a full time angler. In effect, he was just unemployed.

Why would someone, at the beginning of their working life, wish to make absolutely no difference to the world through their efforts, is beyond me.

I was on the dole for a while and absolutely loved it!
But after a year i pulled myself together and started a normal working life again.

I think that many anglers become obsessed but don't go on to happy endings. I'm thinking of Spreadbury's book on fishing for “She” in particular.

You have to work long and hard to get to that time in life.

exactly, hence if they have earnt to get to that stage of life,whos to say they cant spend some/long time on the bank..
