That's my only gripe, tbh not only them. They go onto waters get there footage catch the fish then piss off and stick it all over the web. That poor guy that's been chasing a target fish now has a load of sheep turning up. Luckily they'd never have a hope in hell of getting on my syndicate. Which is good as they aren't to far from where I live

This is a catch 22 though. We're all raving about how great it is to have so much content to enjoy during lock down but at the same time we're slating anglers for publicising waters. They have to fish somewhere. I was looking at the stick Greg Ellis got for naming Nazeing. It was ridiculous. It's not like some top secret water that nobody's heard of is it lol. Now fair play if someone was doing it down the Mere I might agree with some of the criticism but it's hardly a crime on well known waters that are pretty much open access.

I totally agree it is catch 22. But I think when you look at some of the lesser known intimate waters like ditching, I can't imagine it's done that lake much good with Carl and Alex broadcasting it. But as you say, the content has to come from somewhere

For sure. What we don't need is 8 videos a week filmed at Linear which is what we'd end up with if these guys didn't fish somewhere a little interesting.

There's an endless number of day ticket waters and probably some clubs that would be happy for the publicity. Plenty of variety available out there to feed the hunger of the masses.
I just think if a club or syndicate has been quietly going about its business for years without the need or desire to court publicity it's a bit disrespectful to blow those waters wide open in the name of entertainment, earn a living from doing so, then move on to the next place. Just my opinion.

If a water has no publicity ban in place then they are happy with publicity imo, regardless of how many years they've been quietly going about their business. Most of these waters have websites lol.

It's not the club management or lake owners I'm talking about, they obviously want full banks and subs coming in, and they will be the ones who decide on any publicity restrictions. It's the anglers, who likely have no control of these things, who see the negatives of fishing as YouTube entertainment.
