Try it with the pen method of doing it. Its how mine went on and it was good as gold first use

I did mine with a korda spooling bucket, it went on lovely but was just far too lively. It's in the bin now!

Can't be arsed reading the thread but I won't use syncro in any of its guises again, just horrible stuff

Well my freebie spool wasn't any different , swapped to the pen method on the 2nd spool to see if that made a difference and it was still very lively, even after soaking for 24hrs and running through a wet rag with different tension applied.
I've put it on a smaller empty spool to see if that makes a difference, will try on some spare spools in a week or so but for now I've loaded the other up with the OGX 12lb which went on like a dream.

I made the mistake of spooling up with some syncro loaded earlier this year. It was the worse line I've ever used & I tried everything I could think of to try & cure the twist/coiling.

Loaded has always been bad, I've used xt for years and it's always been fine? Sure you can get Coils when it's dry like any other mono (I'm sure some ppl mistake coils for twist)

You're not wrong it was terrible even when wet.
It was recommended by a tackle shop, he'd obviously seen me coming & an opportunity to get rid of some old stock.

Well I've just put the new line on,it's gone on absolutely perfect.Just like it used to so fingers crossed it behaves the same once on the bank
Just to give an update,the latest spool of syncro is utter ****.It is coming off and going in the bin,it's coiling up horrendously and no matter how much you stretch it out it comes back

Often it's user error.
Wind on 25-30 yds, let line go slack. If it behaves then carry on.
If it coils then turn the bulk spool around and it will make it behave.
It's no good copying and trusting some method used online as you need to adapt to what's happening in front of you.

Been using this line for years and it is definitely not the same line.I know how spool up and this is not user error

Could never understand the hype around Synchro. I spooled up with it a few years ago, used for a day then vowed never again.
I wish Berkley hadn't discontinued CM90.

The 18lb Synchro was ok, but agree on the lower BS, too stretchy, even for a mono.
The .38 15lb CM90 was probably the best mono I've used. Behaved really well, low stretch, sank well and tough as boots, just a bit of a shame it glowed like a green laser in the wrong conditions!
