I quite like Mr Penning; from what I see and can gather he's a solid angler irrespective of his brand loyalties / conspiracy opinions . . .he's a bit 'monotone' on the detail and how he comes across on camera could be viewed as marmite however I'm sure he'd be an interesting person to fish / have a beer with . . .could be wrong but he's probably a few notches smarter than the average carp star but perhaps not educated beyond a certain level hence his need to express himself whatever way he chooses . . . free country tbf . . .

If a virus was killing your demographic yet was spread by everyone I'm sure you'd be calling for lockdowns too but because covid pretty much only killed the elderly and already sick then you didn't care.

As evidenced by the successes of the Swedish approach, lockdowns did more damage to society than the virus itself.
Judging by the education gap within schools, the lack of staffing within elderly care due to forced vaccine mandates on sceptical BAME employees, and empty commercial premises due to forced closure, the lockdown had a massive negative effect on our society, and I was against it from the beginning.
Scanning a QR code whilst eating your half price burger did absolutely **** all for the economy, taking a billion quid out of the public purse, and suddenly covid didn't exist for those who lapped it up. The only thing we got angry about whilst getting paid to sit on our arses getting given 'free' money and eating half price burgers was that a blonde fella blew out candles on a cake.
I've always been of the view that the world will look back at 2020 as one of the worst failures of humanity and government ever seen, it'll just take time for others to catch up.

Ironic really, as authoritarianism and the need to suppress discussion was alive and well when you were told to stay at home, grassing up your neighbours for going on two walks a day, driving the dog too far from your front door, or for having the wrong views
If you're going to flounce from a fishing forum for not liking someone's views, or get offended because of the mere presence of a bloke on fishing video on YouTube, you probably do need to get out more (your admission above, not mine)

I work for the NHS as well and I agree 100% - Covid did for plenty of otherwise healthy people.
During the Covid period I foolishly got drawn into a Twitter spat with Penning and one of his mates from Sticky. I think at the time he was likening those who were vaccinating to war criminals.
I invited Penning to come to the ICU at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford,(easy for him to get to), where we had several otherwise fit & healthy people who were fighting for their lives with Covid. None of them were vaccinated and all of them without fail asked to be jabbed whilst in Hospital. Obviously too late for that by then. Strangely Penning didn't take me up on the offer!
As I said to him at the time have the vaccine or not, it is entirely your choice, no one is forcing anyone, but please don't spread stupid misinformation. Only an idiot can believe they know better that 98.7%+ of the world's medical professionals. Or maybe they are a cabal of lizard people with a despotic plan to enslave humanity!!
