If you add attractors such as belechan to your baits you're inherently adding salt for example

One of the main reasons I think the original L030 was so good

Not sure but I'd guess the citric acid reacting with the sodium bicarbonate ended up with a slightly acidic area around where it was introduced. Probably could do the same with an acidic bait or flavour.

Has anybody ever tried small bags of neat citric acid? I think I've seen a photo, possibly Ken T, with hookbaits dipped in citric acid crystals. Frank Warwick has also spoken about soaking imitation baits in a citric acid solution.

Yes it's something I've done a lot of experimenting with and personally I'd reccomend finding the coarse crystals if you can.

Coarse crystals in among boilie crumb sticks around 30 g per kilo of crumb in bags

That's nothing new, you can't re invent the wheel no matter what the mags churn.

One thing everyone on here needs to remember, carp were born and carp grew bigger year in year out despite what the masses where told to believe before social media.

Some lead and some follow, I know where I've been over the last 30 years, you can have aspirations or drive a for lift😉

He asked a question and I answered it what's your problem now?

Very few people have fishing with near crystals of citric acid, most use salt and it's a viable alternative.

I dunno what you've been doing the last 30 years but a lot of it was spent as a forum member called Alby lol

I'd love to drive a fork lift too. At least that is something we can all agree on

When you say coarse crystals Mozzi, I have the stuff from BAF, it's sort of granulated sugar sized crystals?

That disperses very very quickly, tge thicker crystals tend to dissolve slower for around 15 minutes. You could grow them yourself but that's a pain lol

most sherbet does contain citric acid, a product I rate VERY highly, might need to flutter some eyelashes at matlocks lol
