They are our best current guess. But they are probably only a tiny part of the answer. If such an answer even exists.
If you really want to bake your noodle. Look into quantum particles and how they can be in two places at the same time. Or in fact might not even exist until you look at them. Makes absolutely no sense to me. I've tried for years to get my head around it.
Take dark matter for instance. We know it exists. We know that it must make up vastly more of the universe than the bits we can see. But we can't prove it. Look how many years it took to create a Higgs particle. Wasn't that proposed something like sixty years prior to its discovery?
Gravity has been proposed since Newton. Yet we still can't create it or even manipulate it. We still don't understand how it truly interacts with objects. Yet I've had my pants pulled down by loads of tackle companies over the years so it definitely exists.

Ref gravity, did you know that the first time a gravity wave was observed was just 6 years ago? That's 330 odd years since Newton discovered it, and 100 years after Einstein told us exactly what we should be looking for I.e. a wave. Slow progress

It's far too coarse a solution trying to reach the speed of light currently to traverse great distances. A far more elegant solution would be to fold space and time = wormholes. The theory has made great leaps recently.
Something which I find phenomenal is scientists have actually successfully held anti matter for short periods of time, the potential of which, the mind can only just about even scratch at the surface of comprehension.

Firmly believe that we have been visited since the dawn of mankind. The well publicised "tic-tac" and "gimble" events witnessed first hand by the Nimitz pilot David Fravor in 2004 (and others) are undoubtedly based upon reverse engineered alien tech recovered from as early of 1947 which crashed in New Mexico. Forget all that weather balloon BS, Steven Greer who has somewhat commercialised his enterprise these days, suggests that he has evidence to this effect.

I couldn't see any suicide references myself? if he's spoken of it in jest then he's lost all the respect I had for him. I've lost two friends I'd move the earth to help to suicide and I consider it a personal failure on my part they didn't know this in their hearts. sad business.

I'd genuinely love to believe all that but I see no real evidence (of US govt cover up).
The Flir(TicTac)/Gimble/GoFast vids were actually declassified and released by the Pentagon. It makes no sense that they would release vids of their own tech unless they're intentionally tying to throw people off the scent by suggesting it's something else. There's been 2 US govt bodies set up to investigate all this stuff in the last year or 2, the first of which (the UAPTF) could defo be a red herring (a 9 page unclassified report is available for anyone to read). The 2nd one however (the AOIMSG which was only just set up a couple of months ago) is placed inside the Office of Defense/Intelligence & Security which is your usual top secret/classified govt type gaff. Why would they do that if their intention is to spread misinformation?
