There is clearly a whole lot more to all of this than is common knowledge online. Just some of the stuff posted on here has been incredible. The biggest bit of information for me was posted in a thread, long before it even blew up recently. Someone posted on here a patent link, where someone called 'Moore' had patented some type of hormone for use in fishing bait (which just ran out). Funnily enough, the firm who sponsor the angler from the podcast that everyone is pointing fingers at, ends in Moore. Probably just coincidence obviously as I'm sure it's a popular name. But don't tell me this is all totally bull crap, when there have been patents applied for previously. That has been done for very good reason.... On that patent link, it talks of hormones previously thought to be only attractants for mating... Now also being used in a feed inducing way.

This is not going to go away now. Clearly there is some very serious stuff that needs addressing. Clearly the carp fishing community does not want anything to do with this absolute stupidity... Just going by the public reaction to this over the past week.
****ing Joeys the lot of them if any of this is true. I've been dumbfounded all week, hoping to be told at some point that it's all rubbish. Why is no one directly involved telling me and everyone else that it's all rubbish?

If you mean DMPT, I do not think for one second that this is what could be responsible for these big catches. I've been using if for years at very careful levels and results are inconclusive at best!

You were all about to get sold 'something'.... And this has backfired.
That would not surprise me. It's a lot better than wholesale cheating too. I actually hope and would prefer this was some sales ploy for 'something', all gone wrong now.
Patents running out, then suddenly this. A guess could be, that someone was about to sell the potion mentioned in that patent link. It was previously patented until now, maybe it was about to get sold into the UK carp bait market.

What I find to be a concern is the possibility of inexperienced/at all costs larraping this in and the consequences thereafter.
Deffo get the cheating aspect of it all.

I think that patent and Dr Andrew Moore's involvement was in relation to Ultrabite, which ties in with the dates Ultrabite was on sale.

it can still be... (just forget about patent)... you call it backfired, some might call it best advertising possible... Time will tell... people just need to know that when somebody is selling "edge" in a bottle it doesnt have to be the same edge that brought the results... especially if that is of controversial background and it is better used intimate to stay on top with results...

Interestingly though, that whole ultrabite thing went nowhere, despite all the blurb about it etc, very few anglers showed any interest in it at all, I certainly didn't feel inclined to even try it. Same goes for the amino acid podcast with Dr Patrick Mills whereby just 2 AA's in exact ratio's was a key discovery ( which is very interesting for me). But a handful of video's on you tube has everyone wetting their pants over what's being used, just shows the power that google has now.

You strike a very good point. Any of the linked anglers or bait companies will always struggle when they release a "edge" type bait going forward as the captures used to promote it will always be questioned
And i think the match scene will take a hammering from it all now because of this.
