What was the Packetboat?

Is it i big escapee thats only just found its way into the canal or one from many years ago?

Packet boat Marina Uxbridge. I think that's were Dan Smiths grand union canal record came from. Savay escapee Early 2000s I think?

The Packet Boat Inn is/was the pub at the top of the road, been boarded and smashed up several years now.

The Turning Point is the pub by the bridge just down the road where Danny Smith caught from years ago.

I'd be surprised if he has because his been on a lake all spring my mate fishes and there's no 50's in there. Infact he caught the lakes big'un spawned out during the week. So I think it's fake news Ÿ˜‚

Its seems the Mystery deepens.. not so much as a whisper on the Socials. Looks like we'll have to see how this one plays out. Would be up there with Nick the sticks Thames 50 if true..

The lake is actually in Surrey along the M3, he fished there previously in one of his books and caught the big'un but that fish is long gone.
The fish he had came out the week before at 47 but Tel had it this week at 37/38 spawned out my mate was there and took the pics.

Funnily enough, that lakes carpark was rammed late afternoon, usually only see1 car max , this evening there was probably 15+ cars there
