Have spooled up both after soaking for around 2 hours. Seems really supple, loaded well with no twist/springyness. The 15lb is definitely a bit less supple, as to be expected at 0.38mm (vs the 0.32mm of the 12lb) but doesn't seem wirey at all and I'd be happy to use it.
I'll use the 12lb primarily and from my memory of using cm90 and Synchro XT this is more supple and appears to have less memory and stretch. However I haven't done a side by side.comparison vs these lines so may not be accurate.
I found the remnants of a spool of 12lb from a few years ago, probably 2018-20, so not the original black that came in a tin, the spool and labelling all appears the same. So unsure if this is the same as the original technium black or the 'second generation'.

I guess the wait for the new stuff goes on, it's 0.285mm in 15lb (7.5kg). I spotted it on Johnson Ross but when I went back online it was sold out.

The new versions are 0.32mm for 12lb and 0.38mm for 15lb.

Not particularly thin then, I've used the 12lb for years, still have a spool in reserve. Been forced by circumstances to use 15lb so currently on synchro xt, and gardner platinum. Happy with what I'm using for current fishing, but may need to revert to 12lb in future when I change lakes.

12lb - Tinned stuff was 0.33mm. The box version (silver/blue) was labelled 0.32mm a few years back .... and then they labelled them euro spec for a while even more recently .... and now there is relaunch.

18.7lb for 0.305 diameter it says, quite a drop in diameter from 0 .33 for the old tinned 12lb line, knot strength may have improved but low diameter won't help abrasion resistance .
Tried the old 15lb & didn't get on with it so wont be trying the 0.35,new one, was hoping they'd just re manufacture the old 12lb as was, quite disappointing.

Yes, a huge drop, from 0.38 to 0.285 in the case of the 15lb. I don't like the 0.38 but I'd probably try the 0.305, still a big drop and stronger to boot, just hope the abraision resitstance is as good, guess only time will tell but I can't imagine Shimano dropping the ball.

They look like the old euro rated lines there used to be a 0.35mm version and 0.4 version available in europe, i certainly wouldnt be convinced by the stated breaking strains of the "newer" version

I always go by diameter, there's been so much messing with breaking strains & diameter in the past "our 15lb is super strong & breaks at 18lb"...yeah cos its 0.40 dia & that would have been 20lb in the old days.

These aren't the 'new' release stats - that is the older euro rated line as stated. The website hasn't been updated with the new product yet.

Surely to god someone on here works in a tackle shop and can tell us definitively, or someone who wants to ask them on Faceache.

I got it from a shop they listed as receiving the new stuff the day it arrived - mine were the 0.32/0.38mm for 12lb/15lb respectively as per that Facebook post.
