- Original Solar sod pod (sold it after wanting to travel as lite as possible, regretted ever since)

- Korda compact tackle safe - couldn't believe how much i got in it

- Korda compac 5 rod holdall, just ticks every box I could want in a rod holdall
- Cotswold aquarius rucksack (can't remember the name) must be in collaboration with Jag as
all the inner pockets fit the sticks and compact pod.

Although arguably the Spider Spod (or Wolf X or whatever they now call it) has now surpassed that design with reliably opening regardless of how it hits the water and the ability to carry liquid.

Trevor Tomlin Carp King catty, only power cat I've ever bought and still going strong. They have a arm grip that goes into the handle and hooks over your arm so your wrist isn't taking all that force
FishTec bivvy light, the type that had 2 leds on leads...high tech that was...lol
Bankstick moles, any1 remember them? Big screw threaded hollow spike thing, hollow in the middle, drive it in put your bankstick in it, tighten thumbscrew.....solid.
Bushtec candle auto thing, think they're still made. (Where is that...hmm,)

Ahh the Bushlite.
Problem is you can't see or mention it due to seeing it spelt or pronounced as Bull*****.

Very few items that I would say are perfectly designed and manufactured.
Dymag MkII landing net, simply perfect.
Nash Groundhog brolly, many years of faultless use, equalling hundreds of nights.
Solar original slim fluro bobbins, simply perfect.
Solar original Grip Clips, again perfect for the job.

Fox Rucksack from the mid 90s ... I only retired it last year because I reorganized my tackle. After all these years and 100s of nights out in the rain, snow, mud and heat, it still looks like new
Meccanica Vadese Nick Evolution rod pod ... no matter the circumstances, when going to an unknown destination, I know that this rod pod will adapt

I spent a significant period chopping and changing my stuff when I was younger because I wasn't married at the time! The advantage of that was that I knew now what not to buy. However, there are a few items that I would purchase no matter how old they are...

Best designed, these days it's more a case of “Best copies” there's been nothing new for years.
But what stands out in my own kit- which I use for all forms of fishing
Army Bergan: mine a long back 1989 and only now is the PVC inner coating starting to peel a bit, all stitching and Zips work as new, think it will see my life time out - well made with no "Time faults" to give it a limited life span.
JRC Solar DSi Alarms; must be around 23 years old now, they were only distributed by JRC they were actually made by a Czech Electronics company. Been 100% faultless, which you would expect with being a fully sealed unit with never having to change any batteries.
My own Modular set up: with not just Carp fishing, I use 2 and 3 Rod set ups, sometimes single bank sticks, sometimes as 2 or 3 Rod Pods , sometimes 6ft up high – I can build up as needs be on the bank with just a few parts, to suit my needs at will - but that's why I made it.
Struggling to think of anything else, as Rods, Reels, Bivvys, Brollies, Mats, Nets etc.... are all pretty much all the same, nothing stands out as “well designed” or ground breaking.
