Enjoy all Terrys produtions but this one was a little lacking imho....Certainly not up there with ''Tunnel vision'' or the ''Little grey'' ones.... Hes set such a high standard for himself....Some of the specific fish capture stories ,telling them in front of his little roaring log fire are right up there, as well as the Thames exploits ones....
Certainly no one can tell a tale quiet like Tel and transport you there to the moment.... This years offering not so .... He'll be back...!!

People want different things nowadays, I don't 
At one time I knew the names, locations and most of the decent fish that were swimming in the UK even though I knew I would never fish for them, I took a real interest in what was about and what people were fishing for, pretty amazing really. I can stop this post now. Today I could not give a flying ****, says a lot for me and my interest in the pastime as to where we are now, full of bull ****, bell ends trying to make a name for themselves by fishing for any ****ter that swims and everybody trying to cash in on the pastime
Long live the people with a real passion, there is still a bit of tranquility out there, enjoy it while you can

Search out those quiet places,with no big fish in them,..big fish equals big egos ,and sometimes trouble..jealousy and back biting..
I don't fish big fish waters,have zero interest in those places,..those quiet corners are still out there for sure,...,where you can angle to your own parameters, watch the comings and goings of the wildlife...
Long may big fish waters continue,...and the Billy Smarts circus that seems to follow it..,...

I was the same.
Now just happy fishing the one very secluded water, fish touch 60lb but the main attraction is the scenery and lack of ****er wannabes.
Don't even bother going from December to March these days, the way I see it the fish will still be there when I go again just bigger.

I still have some nice waters to fish, without the idiots and townie anglers. I fish far more for other species now though, they are more of a challenge. Wild fish you see, whearas every carp we fish for is just a stockie at the end of the day!

A lovely video and he's a great story teller ( amazing the detail he remembers about each capture) but it does depress me that all these waters he's fishing are £1,300+ a year to fish and invitation only, followed by a long waiting list.
Carp fishing is becoming more exclusive and expensive than membership of the s****iest private members clubs in Mayfair. Just don't see how I can fish these waters.

I've fished a few places Sir Tel has made videos and written about and they were £100 tickets anyone can buy. These places are out there.
And on the subject of the thread, I thought this Xmas offering was his worst one yet, I found it a bit boring tbh which is a shame as I am a big fan and was looking forward to it.
A great story teller that didn't really have a story to tell this time.

I think his final piece to camera in the film was very telling - he wants to get out and chase a big fish again. I think those stories are when he's at his best.
