Since around 2018 carriers if they get held up in traffic have started sending 'parcel delivered' texts.
Apparently, according to a friend of mine who was a self-employed driver for a carrier, they are only allowed one text to inform the customer of a delay, so once that is sent, they just sign the parcel off as delivered, and frequently take it back to the warehouse for redelivery next day. That's one reason, amongst others (covid), for delivered parcels being photographed in front of the door.
Go back to the days of signing for parcels I say!
If I am not in, on every delivery or order I ask for it to be delivered to a particular neighbour in my block.

I had an issue with welds failing on mine, however the customer service was A1 and a new part was with me within 48hrs

Here's an idea. Not aimed at the OP but all of us in general
Get off our arses, spend a few quid more, drive 10, 15, 20, 40 miles and use our local tackle shops and go home with the product you wanted. No late/non deliveries, no bull**** stories etc, and we keep local tackle shops in business
Win win win

That's what I do, always buy from a shop so I can see the product is what I want, the only exception is specialised hook baits.another benefit is being able to return any item that fails for a replacement or refund.

I would of done that on both counts but you can't buy poerporters from the shops anymore only direct and the other item is not in the shops yet to buy them either

The alternative is letting the CEO and his cronies win, then everyone loses. T&C's reduced to just above that of the cheapest couriers, fully flexible hours for posties including Sundays, worse sick pay, lower pay (minimum wage) for new entrants, tens of thousands of job losses as they'll get rid of the daily letter service to save money.
There is mail and parcels left in delivery offices every day because there aren't enough posties to cover it as the job has been cut to the bone. When I started as a Postie in 1997 that was totally unthinkable, not even a single letter was left in and now you've got entire deliveries of hundreds of houses sat there, sometimes for days. When I left in 2018 the job was well on its way to turning into sh*t.
The whole parcel industry is involved in a race to the bottom because they're all trying to do it cheaper. For customers that means worse and worse service, and for employees that means a worse and worse job. For CEO's it means big dividends, bonuses and pay packets, then they can move onto the next industry and wreck that as well.
Everyone wants great service, but nobody wants to pay for it.

I had an Amazon driver steal the lid off our small black recycling box, i kid you not, caught the fekker on camera, Amazon sent us a very nice hamper as an apology. What really annoys me, especially with Amazon and Evri, no matter what the delivery instructions they always leave it on the doorstep.

Because they have to take a photograph of it
