Just compared cm90 breaking strain and dia to other lines and it looks like the 12lbs cm90 0.34mm is more in line with a standard rated 15lbs line.
Bought some cm90 "15lbs" today of ebay might change it for 12lbs

Wouldn't bother, the 15 will sink a little better and be that bit tougher, why bother.

Bought the line to go on some shimano ultegra ci4 5500 xtc reels for my scope 10 footers. Figured smaller dia would be plenty strong, sit better on the smaller spool and help with casting on the 10 footers bit better then the thicker 0.38mm line.
Wouldn't mind the thicker line on my basiairs but seems ott on the travel setup lol

Got gs4000 on my 10ft scopes but they are 2.25tc, my ultegra ci4 550 have 15lb mono and 30lb braid.

Is that cm90 15lb mono? Only asking as berkley stuff quite a bit thicker then standard 15lbs rated line

Yes. Tackle box test says. 33 for 12lb and 0.35 for the 15lb

Batches may vary but i have had 3 spools of 15lb cm90 and 2 spools of 12lb cm90 the 15's all measured 0.38 and the 12lb measured 0.34mm. Thats with a calibrated micrometer

The TB line tests aren't the be all and end all, but it's always interesting to note that the vast majority of monos break around the same strain for the same diameter. (There are some exceptions)
Most 12lb rated 0.33-0.34 lines break around 15lb, and most 15lb rated 0.38 lines break at 19-20lb.
Most low diameter 15lb lines break around 15lb, so what does that tell you...that it's basically the same as most 12lb lines.
PB control is marketed as 24lb 0.35, but on the TB tests it breaks at 16lb....

Yes i agree with you on this , there is some variance as lines do take different knots better than others.
I always cringe when i hear people raving about pb control being 18lb line at 0.3mm diameter, i used the 0.35mm 24lb pb control when it came out and it is a good casting line but the best knot strengths i could get were around the 17lb mark

I bought both 10lb and 15lb CM90 line, as I wanted the option for a lighter line to aid casting and to make life more fun as well as a heavier line for when it's needed/the fishery requires it. However so far ive only fished waters that have a 15lb limit and have found I can easily cast past 100 yards (with a 9ft rod), so wondering why I bothered with the 10lb at all!

I have used it on various waters with no issues, the only doubt i have had with it in clear water is how visible it might be but it sinks so well that hasn't bothered me, on a silty venue the chances are the water clarity wont be that good so i would worry less about visibility issues.

Does it make any difference if its visible or not? Even assuming a carp can see as well as a human then surely it would be less spooked by it than swimming into a line it can't?

Not really sure if visibility makes a difference or not i remember reading the old hutchy books saying would a carp be more scared of hitting a line it couldn't see or by avoiding one it could see?
From watching most lines from bridges or boats most lines stand out midwater due to debris etc sticking to lines , imo lines that sink better and have more on the bottom near the end tackle give me more confidence
Cm90 is one of the lines that does sink well as you probably know when you wind in you can feel it lift off the bottom, although not as good as flouro
There is a train of thought that on certain venues they always know you are there fishing no matter how well concealed end tackle is, and why resting swims often works.
