Used the dumpers for zigs and weed for years but being able to change that set up to standard is great imo. Saves carrying 2 kinds of clip around.
I'll probs get a pack to check them out.

I don't see how it's safe to the uni clip with not dumping the lead as there is no way for the fish to get rid of it

That's what I was saying before it's either fully on or fully dropping every take. Nothing safe in between.

Whatever you think about RM they're not stupid enough to design and market a lead clip that cannot discharge the lead. It would be suicide.

This explains it as being able to either dump the lead or retain the lead. Retain being his own words. It doesn't show it dumping after more pressure. Don't get me wrong, anglers do this anyway my ramming on a tail rubber and how often would an angler not have it in the way round for where they are fishing. I Don't think it'll add to already existing problems on that front.

Just watched the video again and it does look like when set up to retain the lead, the long prong locates into a hole in the clip - completely preventing the lead discharging??

I just checked the website, it says that when set up to retain the lead the clip will discharge under pressure if the fish or rig becomes snagged. Which is a given imho.

In all fairness to Jay, he was one of two anglers I saw using this style of clip on the mets.....and that was around 2010! It's not a new idea, I think I know who the inspiration came from too. I just wasn't confident messing around with paperclips . Like most items, they innovate from an original idea or an improvement on a competitors. That's life for you, yet in this industry we seem to have a problem with "copying" MCF or any other similar item to this.
So yeah, it is entirely possible to use these things for more than two years, it's just having the opportunity to get it to market, which he now has.

I used them for the first time at the weekend.
Didn't try dropping the lead with them but as a standard lead clip arrangement, they work just as any other does.
I also found that they grip the tungsten tubing very well, had no riding of the tubing up the line which I have experienced with others.
Well made and thought out in my opinion, very happy with them.
