Used mine quite a lot now. Love it, and it's well made. Only ‘issue' (which isn't any fault of the brolly) is that in driving rain when I've had to put the front on there isn't much room to try and organise wet gear. But the whole point is that's it's quick to put up and not massive...I've got a 2 man bivvy if I want loads of space.

but opted for the Solar Compact Spider bivvy very similar size but has a Zip in groundsheet and the legs are adjustable for uneven ground he loves it LINKY POO

for today Cyber Monday Angling for less are doing Spider bivvy plus front plus zip in groundsheet for I think its £269 hell of a good price

This is the one I have now. I like it too, but just a bit more work to set up. A brolly was about 2 minutes to setup and the spider was about 3 minutes. Still very fast either way. The spider offers a bit more protection in high winds I think.

I dont think there is anything in it when both have the fronts on ?
Spider Bivvy is slightly deeper and wider by not very much

I wasn't talking about size. I think the frame offers more ridigity than a brolly frame. I have read people mentioning that the glasfiber poles broke on their brolly. Plus the brolly can need 2 poles to be pushed in the ground, while the bivvy is free standing.

More than happy with mine. 6'1" and the spokes aren't an issue. There's a bit of condensation after a night as a single skin though. Opening the back vents to get some airflow helps.

are you saying you personally know of a Solar undercover brolly rib failing ???
because SOLAR HAVE NOT HAD ANY REPORTS OF RIBS FAILING I CHECKED TODAY
so maybe your talking about the inferior EARLY brollys by other manufactures ??
ribs and like rods have moved on and very much improved
and if so your post is very miss leading if its not factually correct mate
as a matter of fact one of our forum members fishes on possibly the very windiest at times places in the UK on the banks of the River trent where it can be completely barren fields all around for miles
not a bush or a tree just flat land where the wind is ferocious and the storms scary and his Undercover brolly has been perfect as if needed you can drop it down low

You are a character mate. My post isn't misleading. I am still thinking about buying a Solar Undercover brolly as I feel like it's a bit quicker to put up than my Spider compact, so I read everything I can about them including reactions under video about this brolly on YouTube and Facebook. There I have read a few comments about people saying having problems with it. Nothing more and nothing less.
And how have you checked if Solar had any reports of problems with it? Asked them? If so, they sure as hell ain't going to admit problems with it.

I just get pissed of with people I heard this I heard that bolax it can put the gullible that dont see thru the ballshine from buying a great product
I dont recommend or post F**k all unless I have owned and used it or have CLOSE friends that I can rely on 100%
unlike a lot of people I dont say this is fantastic just cos I happen to own one I like to have used the alternatives probably why I still own 7 bivvies and 4 brollys and sold loads and loads over the past 60 odd years of using them
AND JUST BOUGHT THE SPIDER AND WRAP and all the extras
and yes matter of fact I have a Friend directly connected that after reading your comments I phoned this morning
and as stated there are more than one members on this forum that have been in server weather conditions and its exceeded their expectations in its protection
if you stop and think about it has GOT to be better than the bivvy simply because if you needed to you can simply drop it down low you cant get anywhere near that profile with the bivvy can you ?

Like I said, I timed the setup time of my Spider vs a brolly and the difference is about 1 minute for me (maybe quicker for some), weight difference is also the same (both 7,5 kg). Brolly is longer but more narrow to carry. So, it really depends on what you need I think.
Really like my camo spider bivvy, but the quickness of erection of the brolly keeps me doubt my choice a bit.
Protection wise, I do think the bivvy is more secure as more rigid. Coverage wise I think they don't differ. The bivvy you can also spread and set quite low.
