Back on the bank tomorrow night, looks like it's going to be slightly warmer over night, with the pressure dropping.
Wind is going to be from the west, which in our lake is blowing down to the slightly shallower end of the lake, which forms a small bay.
If no fish are showing, Would you fish on the end of the wind, or on the back of it, in the deeper water.

What makes you think carp are territorial? I've observed territorial behaviour in aquarium fish but never thought of carp as being territorial, but maybe. Interested to hear others thoughts on this.

I think you are confusing the fact that some carp like to live in certain areas of a lake with the fact that certain animals will defend a territory. For example male Robins will defend their territory to the extent of killing other males if they don't leave heeding the warning sounds.
