Vardis are still going, mainly via salesmen on facebook. Not as active as they were.
AI transformed in Colne Valley Tackle or something like that.
Anchor still make Arlsey bombs or however you spell it. Used to make backleads from them using the Solar Abseilers.

Wasn't fishrite a brand linked to Bennetts of Sheffield? I presume as soon as Bennetts went, Fishrite went with them.

Fishrite was owned by a guy called Dave Hunt or Hunter, was based near Hindley (Wigan) He actually owned "Hindleys Tackle" at one point, now Angling Direct.

PDQ,Pegley Davis ...I had a lovely 12ft match rod with similar translucent blanks to a Shakespeare polystel match,but it also had Fuji alike ,triple match guides,but in brown with out the luminous centres..

I had an orange Shakespeare 12ft float rod with cork handle,I bloody loved that rod

Shakespeare had a Cypry range of tackle/rods

Pflueger was my first “proper” rod 9 foot Avon used it for everything
And then a milbro float rod that I was given.

Surprised nobody has mentioned Normark, some of their rods of 30 years ago are still setting the standard.
