For me:

Like

Nice water where possible with some nice fish in that I really want to fish for

At one with nature in the great outdoors, all part of this magnificent pastime, been there in amongst it

My time, nobody else's, like the odd social with friends, happy times but also love been alone with my thoughts relaxing

Dislikes

Meeting Loud mouths, Bull****ters and two two faced people. No place in carpfishing for me, it's as far from my reality as can be, it's a peaceful and tranquil pastime for me and a getaway of normal life

I have others

People deciding to sit for hours behind me trying to have a conversation with me,I go fishing to chill not chat

And others saying “oh I didn't think there was anything in here”

People waking me up early hours asking if I've caught

And people asking me if I've caught anything and I'm just setting up after getting there 5/10 mins before
This is a regular problem fishing public waters as soon as they see a bivvy that's it 100 questions

This thread is brilliant, especially the spinal tap references... think mine are pretty similar to everyone elses. And I can't stick to 3 of each sorry.

Likes -

1. Sunrise with a brew in hand
2. Catching carp
3. Helping others catch carp (especially my daughter and her friends)
4. Chatting with other anglers (not the 'what rig, bait, spot, wraps' bollox)

Dislikes -

1. Rubbish left by anglers
2. My inability to cast accurately and not spook feeding carp
3. Forgetting milk/cup/teabags/spoon/loo roll or gas bottle running out
4. Bringing the rod in after a blank night and finding it either massively tangled or no bait on the end

I've vowed to not fish day ticket lakes ever again.

Me and a work friend was setting up for a weeks fishing at bluebells and had another ‘angler' show up just after. Before we were even fishing he had left a bucket in our swim as the swim we were fishing was featured in a YouTube carp video.

Staring at a bucket for a whole week is what deterred me from fishing these lakes.

I also found enough tackle on the floor to fill up my tackle box and re spool all 3 of my reels.
