I left a 25 kg bag of dog biscuits in the basement in the south of France when i went home in November , on my return in April as soon as i opened the door i could smell the ammonia from the mouse urine , i went to where i keep my tackle and bait , the room was full of mice , on the walls , floor , shelves hundreds of the little fu**ers , time froze , they were just staring at me , as if to say what the f are you staring at , i managed to splat a few with a piece of old floor boarding and jump on a few , that night i was rudely awoken with one one my head , they were everywhere , that morning i went and bought 20 mouse traps and loaded em up , all you could hear that day was mouse traps going off , after 4 or 5 days we had the clever few left , we had to resort to smoked salmon to tempt them , the urine smell took a long time to disperse and the mouse shi* took even longer , the 25 kg unopened bag was completely empty !

We used to keep parrots and parakeets and despite keeping the bird seed in sealed plastic containers the mice got in the house and at night would get in the bird cages to eat the food .i put collars on the cage legs to stop them climbing up but they still did it. Mousetrap got a few but the plastic boxes of poison were better at reducing the numbers. Having cats in the house helps but where there is an available food source you will attract mice.

. . .def the best - you still need to check and 'empty' regularly . . .I've found 3 mice squeezed into each opening (6 total per trap) in their desperation to get at the 'blue magic' (it is like heroin to them) . . .

You quiet correct Gerry. No mice issues since i bought them...i was getting something out the shed at the weekend and noticed them, hence my question...i have bought another two and am awaiting delivery this week....i will leave the two i bought 18 months ago still in the shed and put the new two in....

I use Nash 10mm Peach (orange) pop ups. They love them....but not for long!!

Had one mouse in my trap around a month ago and since it's been untouched. Today I found some fairly fresh droppings in the back of the garage and the trap untouched.

One of the difficulties I face in the garage is that if a noise gets anymore than 2/3ft from a poison box trap then I might not be finding it underneath some of the clutter. Is it still worth getting them even if it might take a week or so to find the bodies after thorough checking?

I've found, beyond all doubt, the best bait for a mechanical trap is Reeses peanut butter cups. Absolutely nails em 😂😂

unlike Rats mice dont stink when they are dead
very little moisture content when you do find one it will be rock hard and shriveled up with no smell in my experience

I bought a couple of those traps OG recommended, really impressed so far and they are working well, always a few dead mice and a few havn't even made it out the trap before dropping dead

Strangely though when I went to check them Saturday one of the green blocks inside had gone walkabouts???

i've had two dead mice so far, both had dragged the green block out before eating on it and dying next to it. It'll be somewhere, have a look about. that or its all been eaten!

they dont eat it they just need to lick it thats why each box will kill up to 50 mice more or less instantly

and NO secondary poising if they get eaten by pets

BUT it WONT kill rats
