Yes I recall the pods for nods comments over the years.
And I guess they are a bit like marmite though in my advancing years I'm looking to get one (then I might get the rods straight and level for a start)
Though agreed it's the practicality, quick and easy to set up (when time is short) they fold up well and many you can secure to the deck.
The jag micro and nano pods look good though think it will be next year before there's stock anywhere

Was chatting to someone who was moaning about the JAG *type* of systems being a right pain to set up. Can get where he was coming from. Those types of pods pack down mega small, yet you've got to get them all set up again. Would make sense just to have them pre setup in a rod bag, with all you having to do is setup the goal posts.
Your pod is similar to mine. I've got my supporting bars pre set. Saves loads of time.

Yes. 95% of my fishing is 24 hours or less. most choices I make with tackle are based on the speed of setup and pack down.
different end of the scale for weight and price. I also have a nash 2-rod knx pod thing. that can also have the goalposts and alarms etc all set up ready to go. even quicker than the Defiant. I use it when I cycle to a nearby lake.

Reminds me of when me and a mate joined a lake with wooden platforms, I went with stage stands and he went with a matrix pod. My setup was miles quicker and more stable.
I've thought of getting one myself at times but haven't found one I like yet

I had one of these the build quality was appalling so much play in the legs and joints, the lok down levers came off the sticks when trying to pull up the inserts. It's a shame I really liked the principal and the design but for the price I expected much better.

Hopefully I'm gonna get the fantail pod if we get our annual bonus from work.( wont be disappointed if we dont get one, as still having a Job is a bonus) ....but this seems the most versatile pod out there...
I like to have my rods and line in a straight line if at all possible, or as close to straight as i can....
I always use single sticks whenpossible...and most of the time it is, as i dont fish lakes with manicured swims and my syndicate is all for as natural looking swims as possible.... so apart from the height of summer when the ground is rock hard i dont really need a pod....

I have a JAG prolite, pack's away to nothing, incredibly light and will probably outlast me. I tend to favour single sticks where I can but you won't go wrong with a JAG pod.

I've got the compact Fantail and it suits my needs perfectly.
Having fished gravel pits for most of my life I can't imagine not having a pod and can clearly remember rushing down to Wickford Angling Center to pick up the original Gardener pod. Game changer.

Matrix, with the shortest slinky rests and adjustable snag bags. Just excellent, folds small, very stable, easy to set-up quickly and very well made. IMO the best on the market. Had mine a while now and whilst I'm no fan of rod pods, when I need one, it does the job. Use mine with both 2 and 3 rod snag bars.
