Im good with expensive kit and have plenty of it, sort of drawn to it like a magpie and enjoy using it when I do actually get out, cant beat good quality stuff, it can always we sold on at decent rates too.
Now bait, that's another issue, buy loads of it and throw it in for the chance of a kipper, its more like playing the fruit machines or gambling.

Everything has a value. It's what the market will bear.
A bespoke net will sell for a few hundred and no doubt is viable to produce with a modest profit. Every one is happy.
Put the price up to £1000 and the company annual sales and almost certainly overall profit will drop.
Sales would then be so low that it probably would not be viable to produce.
The customer drives the prices wether a cheap massed produced item or a top quality bespoke one, same principle for both.

I'd disagree with that. Piling bait into some swim and hoping for a bite aint angling imo. If you bait in accordance with the activity in front of you it's pretty hard to waste it I reckon.

Still MC'ing to grime and jungle?
Mass produced tat is mass produced tat, people buy mass produced tat and live with the consequences or pay craftsmen to adapt it so that it sort of serves its purpose.
Very few people are prepared to pay the real value of a bespoke product, just the price it can be made. then obsess about how quickly they can have it.
There's fully grown men that get emotional about a bivvy or something coming out they need yesterday, but they didn't know it existed when they were happy in the last bivvy they spent a monkey on..
Or people that couldn't go fishing because their rod builds were behind schedule, I very much doubt anybody having custom rods built doesn't have at least one set of other rods to use.
Don't get me started on fishing related stickers on items that aren't made ‘cough' by angling companies and paying actual money for clothes that make you a walking advert for an importer or Far Eastern logo'd factory catalogue trash.

.....but, if you can... heavily bait an interesting area and leave it, it can pay off big style - not recommended on B1 - highly recommended on a vast featureless canal network.. horses for courses i guess.

Great thread very interesting thought each individual has on this which is the whole point of this thread isn't it that there can never be a perfect set amount for how much is too much for each individual with there being so many different factors to measure thing on!
Myself certain things I couldn't justify paying the money on such as the distance sticks form over function comes to mind. But not knocking you or anyone who has wanted the spend x amount on what they wanted!
Get what you want/what you can afford rather and get on that bank lol👍👍👍

I like nice gear and am not limited with what I spend, but my sticks are £15 Cygnet ones, because essentially that's all they are - sticks. Out of all my tackle they're one of the least likely things to get broken - they're far more likely to get nicked, expensive ones like the Korda especially so.
Doesn't make any difference to me if someone else wants to pay 50, 60, £100 for a set though. Go for it.
