Couple of things
Who said the substances being used are environmentally safe? If they are prescription only products then they have only been tested for the use they are to be prescribed for, which isn't drawing fish into your swim on the promise of a bit of nookie just so they can be caught in their confusion.
No bait, not the best bait in the world draws fish into your swim from a distance. I make my own baits and am always looking for new ingredients, but the best I hope for is that I can find a bait that fish in the baits vacinity will find irresistible. I still want the challenge of finding the fish or a spot they will visit. These substances under discussion do not appently work on this basis, they draw fish from far and wide... Including your swim and mine.
The use of these substances is both environmentally risky and downright selfish, no idea who has used them but if it's you reading this hang your head in shame you are not an angler, and if you are considering using them just don't.

I'm saying think about the environment because it's quite the opposite.
So if you stumbled across a concoction that did what these chemicals do completely organically and without harming the fish you wouldn't follow through with it? Pull the other one

Normally find your repetitive misery pretty boring
But I have to admit that I also appreciated the irony of a podcast about what seems to be the carp fishing holy grail bait ingredient (all be it possibly illegal) foreworded by an advert for new ‘industry shaking' flavours.
I'm not sure if there was also irony in the statement about it not being illicit if it's already naturally from the carp..If that was the case with all controlled pharmaceuticals we could all legally be tripping on DMT and injecting pure adrenaline all week long.
