I've watched lots of the Hitler rant vids, this is up there with the best. Ali probably doesn't deserve half the stick he gets. Sometimes though, you reap what you sow.

Bad publicity isnt always good publicity ... Just as Gerald Ratner ....
I do feel a bit for Ali though .... He must be feeling under tremendous pressure .... Problem is he uses social media heavily, and get it wrong and its brutal on there, and combined with the hype he generated before release and resulting negative reaction since release he is in a proper pickle!
If this doesnt turn round it wouldnt surprise me if he was removed as the "face" of OMC. They are now bordering becoming a laughing stock with a small amount of credabiliity waining fast ... and that is very difficult to reverse.

It would be very interesting to be sitting at Korda now ... and know their reaction .... i imagine some will have an element of sympathy for Ali .... but business is business and it would take someone very brave/unorthodox to vocalise that.
I do think Ali's marketing style is of its time (circa early days of Korda) and that amount of hysteria/excitement/over the top marketing is now pretty "dated" ..... Korda's marketing has definately been toned down in recent years and are all the better for it imo.

It's a strange take feeling sorry for him. Also I can't see him being removed as the face of his own company. It's mainly Facebook and Instagram he uses and the feedback on there is overwhelmingly positive. There's literally millions of sycophants dying to disappear up his arse... Which I think is part of the problem.

Although his own pages has lots of loyal followers supporting him and the idea, i dont see that on the general pages.
I feel sorry for him because of the pressure he must be under due to the continued witch hunt. It has been a relentless and in some cases a vindictive onslaught. This can take an enormous toll on someone. Problem is social media is a double edge sword. Hopefully things will settle down again in a few days.
Dont get me wrong .... the product is awful and so is his over the top marketing strategies so im not his biggest fan either but i dont wish him any ill.
If its deemed by the investors to be good for the company that Ali takes a step back then I dont think he will have a choice. The other option is to bring in someone along side him with a calmer/mature nature to add credability and steady the ship.

I don't feel sorry for him in the slightest. This rig is dangerous. You only have to look at it to spot the flaws. If it was a dodgy baseball cap or a fading shirt I would have sympathy and zero interest in this whole thing. But this product WILL damage a lot of fish. There's no doubt about it that it will get caught in the mesh and cause damage.
Ali is a great character. Brilliant marketeer perhaps. But he is not a product developer and has bitten off more than he can chew here. Somebody told me once of the effort and investment that was required of Korda when they developed their heli safe system. It was phenomenal, a big outlay even for a firm like Korda. Ali has not got the funds or the people for what is a very complex, tricky product, and it shows.

splitting hairs, but I think the problem is that he HAS got the money, his investers are multimillionaires. Precisely because they have practically unlimited funds, they have sat around in meetings and developed things like the tackle box that velcros to your rod, and now taken on this monstrosity.
