Pay with a credit card and I'd imagine you'd have some protection.
From the commission side of it, Temu would just give him a tiny percentage of sales.
Look at it from a different angle though. I'd rather save 80% of my own money and him get a small bit of commission, than pay full price for the same tackle and line the pockets of the owners of the big tackle brands.

I’d rather pay my £5 for a packet of hooks from a tackle shop. I know exactly what I’m getting because I’m holding it in my hand. The guy from Kent who works in the shop gets a wage, the guy from Essex who drives a fork lift in a tackle company warehouse gets a wage and they both get to put food on the table for their families.
If the hooks turn out to be rubbish I take them back to the shop and they give me something else. Maybe I’m old fashioned like that.

This is so true and I can’t believe the support this guy is getting for what is essentially accelerating what the Far East has always wanted, last man standing so they can hold the world to ransom.
If you look at the bigger companies, not the little start ups who ship swivels and pva from China and split down bulk to scam a few quid, this is hugely damaging to not just carp fishing but life in general.
Think of the little bits of innovation- things like spinner swivels, bait screws etc. someone has gone through all the cost and prototyping just for the Chinese factory to scam, make copies or sell direct to anybody.
I have a mate who imports from China and as you will see from sites such as Temu these are not about making a profit in fact they are not about making money at all, they are about globally destroying manufacturing everywhere until at some point they are last man standing and can charge what they want. All their factories are on Government subsidies - it doesn’t matter what they make or sell just as long as they produce something.
In ,y opinion ‘carp tax’ is a ridiculous mantra, years ago during the developing years it was about a company finding an existing product (shrink tube, pva nuggets etc etc) and just replacing a sticker to make it carp tackle, I get and support that. But blatant copies and some bloke showing how to access these and being lauded a hero - not for me.
The trouble is we all now do it, the more we do, the more shops will close their doors, they are already being used as showrooms. Imagine developing a product, costing hundreds sometimes thousands of £ to get it spot on (spomb?) risking your livelihood on an idea, for the dream to be over within months when the near perfect copies flood the market, for probably less that they were buying trade - I’ve been there and done it.
We all want to save a few quid but we should all be aware that when we moan and groan in 5, 10 or twenty years time, when all we have is temu and the prices have risen, we got what we deserved. I’m not suggesting that this situation is recoverable or that you should be paying for the real deal - what we should be aware of is that the bigger innovative companies are not taxing us, they are paying huge sums for staff, marketing, field testing just to be ripped off at the very point where they should be making margins. Get someone else to do the legwork then scam a copy.
Whilst many companies (Nash- trakker etc.) might not have helped themselves with some ridiculous products - trust me we will miss them when they’ve gone.

Some good points there to be fair, and some of which i agree with.
I do completely agree with the real innovation side of it, but I'm afraid alot of that has completely gone.
Ali Hamidi for example (and no hate towards him, although I'd admit I'm not a big fan), he's started a company (fair play), and most of the S**T they're selling is repackaged (in ridiculous packaging I'll add but it's different i spose), stuff that's already out there.
What i will disagree with is the carp tax mantra. If i was going to buy a product from the shop (could be anything, not just fishing), and someone offered/warned me of an exact cheaper alternative at a quarter or fifth of the price, just different packaging, I'd thank them for saving me some money. Same goes for this.

Carp Tax = adding a premium to a product because it has been repurposed from something else. See Nash moon chairs, bait grinders, better packs, etc etc.
Carp tax doesn’t appear on products that were made for the original intention, that for the last 45 odd years has been my understanding. Given your example below (which I strongly disagree with) he has introduced his own tax by commission! If you want to keep more money in your pocket, why would you not buy direct? Why do you see the value in his tax, but not a mark up for the companies innovating products, marketing products? Supporting magazines, shops and the sport in general?
When Trakker produce a bivvy for £1k and the factory does a direct rip off for £500 then the‘saved’ £500 isn’t ‘tax’- it isn’t reinvested in the sport, this country but is an absolute scam. If fishing was under threat in the uk, do you think Temu or Ali express would care? Would fox? Nash? Trakker - of course they would.
Would this bloke (you seem to know him) walk round the tackle box with his disciples and show how customers could save money, getting them to peruse the products, have a look and feel and then provide the link to save money? Once we get to this stage and you need some screws to mend something at home, or you need to pop in and buy a bag of bait for a day session, you’ll be crying that the high street is just vape shops and charity shops.

I understand the points about innovation, product developments ect. But, if you get China to manufacture for you, you know what the outcome is. You know they’ll just produce extra and sell it themselves. The companies manufacturing their own products aren’t on temu are they… that would create more jobs if firms started doing that! Costs would have to go up in all likelihood though.

As has been mentioned the fella behind this site is Craig the same fella that's called out Simon Crow. And a few other anglers for dubious angling practices. It seems he's on a one man mission to upset the angling trade. Controversy gets view. Whether this will work out for him who knows. Are the angling trade quaking in there boots, again who knows.
Maybe we'll get a shift in what us anglers are willing to pay. It seems that every " me too " company's that crops up comes in that the same price as that what the trade dictates. Maybe it's a case of not wanting to upset the apple cart. Plod along and take there slice of the pie. Craig is just making people aware there's other cheaper options out there.

Agree, no one should do that... But it's not a website that is selling goods.
