Fair shout - the but for me is that I fish silly close to islands and margins, and will often take 4 goes to get it where I want it, plus weirdly I like the foam rising as if it shouts to me in a polite tone ‘all good down here'

By far and away the best nuggets I've ever used were called Magic Maize. They were for young kids to do arty stuff with, I used to get them from the Early Learning Centre, once that closed I got them off eBay.
I'm down to my last couple of bags and haven't been able to find them anywhere recently.

the thing is . . . does it really shout 'all good down here' . . .? Unless your using a winch cam you'll never know 100%
a) Whether the foam residue has melted off in totality
b) If it has whether the hookbait has landed toward the leader/mainline (helicopter)
c) If it has whether the hookbait has landed toward the leader/mainline (lead clip with loop / articulation at clip)
d) If it has whether the hookbait has landed on a choddy bit of the spot and the hooklink is looping upwards / sideways over an obstacle
Paranoia!
Hence my conclusion that unless you mesh it its not worth it the majority of the time . . .

I put a couple of nuggets in a medium funnel web bag, nick the hook through the PVA 'tag' end and it will come off. I started to do this in the summer months as the lick & stick two pieces either side of the hook sometimes came off on impact with the water. works all year round, a little more expensive but I have piece of mind with presentation.

Your recommendation is brilliant and these really are the cream of nuggets. You can avoid postage as The Entertainer stocks them.
I had a play around with them yesterday, they are much more dense and hooked on not lick and stick they tested perfectly. Being a belt and brace guy and as my lake is currently frozen I just spent about an hour meshing them the old fashioned way.

Go on eBay search eco flow biodegradable loose fill can buy a big sack of their that's all pva nuggets are that's exactly what the tackle box in Kent do they get big bags of it delivered by Essex packaging supplies and rebag it into smaller bags and sell it for £4 bag
