In all of this the biggest losers are the tackle shops as they'll be the ones with stock they can't sell. Not for me.

It's not about budget, as I honestly don't see why you'd spend £200 on some copies with pretty much no guarantee when you can buy a set of MX for around the same money, or other tried and tested alarms, and spend it once.
These will just sell to people who don't mind losing some money and taking a punt on a possible bargain if they did turn out to be good.

Well I took a punt on these and got a set of 4 plus remote for £128 and think they are fantastic
Value.
I have been carp fishing over 30 years and have owned lots of alarms in that time including the original fox Rx which I have a set of 4 but like most carp anglers can't help myself when I see a bargain.
I really like the way you change the colour of the LEDs and the different tones you get from these alarms but only time will tell how reliable they are.
As I have said in another thread about these alarms I will feedback after I have used them a while and been through the elements but personally I already think they will last the test of time as they feel very well built.

After seeing some of the movies, it seems water ingress wil determine the life time...
I would open these up and spray the electronics with a protective layer and also seal the alarms.

Be interesting to see if they stand up to a couple of years use, as the cases do let in a fair bit of water in that submerging video. At the end of the day, Chinese factories make everything from the cheapest tat to the highest end gear, the difference is the quality of components used and quality control. Direct selling lowers the end cost significantly.

Buy cheap buy twice. Don't see the point of buying replica bite alarms... You just know they will fail sooner or later.
If you want cheaper reliable bite alarms get a set of mini microns, mx's or a set of gardner att's.

I won't be buying twice as I already own dozens of sets of alarms that work I only bought these as I was curious to see if they were any near fox quality and so far I'm very impressed.

It will be interesting to see if they last, has anyone filmed an original rx+ being submerged to compare it to? or any other top end alarms for that matter? I know the atts have been filmed working under water but i think they are one of the few that can withstand it.
I don't think i would be confident submerging most of the alarms on the market without the risk of any kind of problems i have had top end alarms that have suffered with water ingress through heavy rain let alone being submerged in water.

I've bought the wpe version for my young lad and to honest can't fault them at all yet, I used them a few weeks ago and have left them out in the garden in up to now mild frost and moderate rain and soaked them with hose pipe and can report that they work perfectly. I will put them through there paces over the winter and report back next year with my findings.
To add the build quality is superb and equal to any fox alarms I've owned. They don't have as many features of the rx but everything you're ever going to need

I find it hard to believe any alarm could be fully submerged in water and will be 100% waterproof.
Surely something will get in through the controls, switch, sockets or the sensor.
I'm trying to think how those items could be made fully submergible, without guessing does anyone know?

As per post 28 i have been witness to a atts alarm working underwater for a prolonged period of time... implemented as a snide 4th rod fully submerged in a margin
