And don't forget using gravel as a hookbait. We all try and find the gravel areas as carp feed on them - maybe it's the gravel they are after? Although it might have been Hutchie that started that one, same as fishing in the trees at night as carp roost overnight. And are you saying you know more than Hutchie? I think you have gone slightly over the top with your response, I never implied they were bad just not as good as a few years ago, this was discussed with a friend who thought the same yesterday. It is a forum where people can debate and discuss. I also stated in my opinion or am I not allowed to voice this anymore? Just because you do not like this opinion does not make it any less valid or incorrect!

I do not think I went over the top at all.....I simply asked you (without name calling as you have done) simple questions to why you regularly sent us dozens of email enquiries (over a long period of time) of which we always courteously and quickly responded to but then you never got back to us.....
Also you haven't answered why you emailed us on Sunday at 7.51pm asking for a price list but then post on here 8 minutes later at 7.59pm saying my products are now not as good (IMHO). Don't you think that is odd behaviour?
(I will happily post screen shots of all your emails and post them on here for everyone to see if you cannot remember sending them or you think I am lying or being a conspiracy theorist?)
Given the above, can't you see that some people might consider that you were deliberately wasting our time?

I've been sharpening my own hooks for over 10 years now , but the best I've used and got the fish to prove it are Jason Haywood's, top notch.

wac - I've tried all of the sharpened options out there. Not because I'm displeased with Jasons, rather that I'm always interested in observing the results of different sharpening techniques. In the last 5 years (maybe even 10) the only hooks I've been prepared to cast out without any additional work/sharpening are Jasons. Just make sure you're not cutting your nose off to spite your face is what I'm saying fella.

My favourite hook pattern is a widegape has anyone any experience of widegape patterns sharpened by jason or jasons own widegape pattern?
I have used a lot of the j precision widegapes in size 4 but they are often out of stock so looking for a good alternative?

I've tried the Ultra-Sharp Wide Gapers and the Grippa's, both for zigs. Both decent.
He'll do any brand/pattern you want if you send them over, or there's a few widely available from the shops (Johnson Ross do the TA and Korda wide gape patterns).

I think it's safe to say that blunt hooks don't catch many fish and the fad will never catch on, you don't need much in the way of cognitive ability to know that without going down the route of experimentation.
But some will still argue.
