For you lads asking about Wide gapes there is 3 on the market that are outstanding, I'm mainly talking about size 4's here (the biggest sellers) and I'm talking about when sharpened of course!
In NO particular order though....

1. My own Wide gapers. (Yes I would say that!)
2. Korda Wide gape X
3. ESP Claw Hammer.

They are all extremely trustworthy patterns and have been described as “evil and brutal” by some of customers.
The ESP is probably the strongest out the 3 but is also the heaviest and we don't all need a mega strong/heavy hook.

I do not think I went over the top at all.....I simply asked you (without name calling as you have done) simple questions to why you regularly sent us dozens of email enquiries (over a long period of time) of which we always courteously and quickly responded to but then you never got back to us.....

Also you haven't answered why you emailed us on Sunday at 7.51pm asking for a price list but then post on here 8 minutes later at 7.59pm saying my products are now not as good (IMHO). Don't you think that is odd behaviour?
(I will happily post screen shots of all your emails and post them on here for everyone to see if you cannot remember sending them or you think I am lying or being a conspiracy theorist?)
Given the above, can't you see that some people might consider that you were deliberately wasting our time?

Forum? Yes you stated an opinion and I responded as its my business which I care passionately about....I simply asked you these questions as it seemed we may have upset you, or you had an ulterior motive or are you one of those people that get some sick satisfaction about mucking people about and wasting their time (which is what you have done on many occasions)

It's never good for any business that a customer decides not to use their products again but you never once questioned or complained to us?

IMHO I really can't say I am sorry you are taking your custom elsewhere, in fact it will free up more time and will make my life and Samantha's who deals with the ordering much easier! LOL.

Anyway.... You have said you are moving on and I will do the same and consider the matter closed, but I will always vigorously defend my reputation and my businesses.

I am sorry Matt that you feel my products are not as good as they used to be, and that is something I completely refute as I can assure you I take the same care that I always have with every order.
Yes our order books are bulging and I believe this is because of our quality of products and attention to detail and treating all customers (Trade or direct) with the same care and respect.

A couple of things don't quite sit "right" with you posting you are not happy though????

Samantha replied to you later that evening but you have not replied at all? That seems a very strange thing to do as you are not happy?

Previously you have emailed us on NUMEROUS occasions asking for a stock/price list and you never reply and just disappear?

You have emailed us on many other occasions asking specific questions about bait...hooks.... availability etc and you almost never reply and just disappear?

You have emailed many times since 2014 and asked us to price up orders for you, which have always done quickly and politely you have only ever placed a few orders and very often you do not reply?

Previously we have given you your BCSG discount for your last order which was in June 2023.
You have NEVER contacted us saying you were not happy with any of our products?

B Rex.....No it's not unreasonable now you have explained why you think like that, I understand why you (and others) would be cynical of a highly successful product being withdrawn. It is still disappointing to be tarred with the same brush as others that have been mentioned that have misled, lied and robbed their customers just to make an extra quid, but I suppose that's human nature.
There has also been one particular scum bag who is sponsored by another company that has been spreading a load of lies to anyone he meets on the bank, (I don't know why?) as to why I have withdrawn the "Specials". Unfortunately this individual started to spout a load of complete BS to a chap he met on the bank. The chap was a mate of mine! Who put him straight.......

For clarity.....The products have been withdrawn for a few reasons that all sort of came about at the same time........

Since I stopped producing my rolled bait (MPX) last year due to my bait roller closing his business, I have needed bait for my own angling and over the last few months I have been fortunate to receive a number of great offers from other bait companies and have agreed to join one of them. It is a company I have complete faith in....

Now.....If I am joining a company to use their products I obviously could not be selling my own! It would be a proper pi55 take! So to show my loyalty and commitment to them I volunteered to take the "Specials" off the market. It was just the right thing to do imo.
Around the same time, the company that distributed my products took the decision to only supply a handful of shops and move to more direct sales. This obviously shrunk my market considerably as well!

The cost of everything went up! Even the packaging went up by about 40p per pot and that rise when taking into consideration the distribution and shop mark ups.....You really are not making a lot! Yes I could whack the prices up, but I hate doing that and with the amount of hookbaits out there (despite many having NO track record) it all seemed like a lot of work for not much return. They are also a ball ache to make.

Lasty I have worked for 42 years now and that has paid off and thanks to that hard work, careful financial management (and George Osborn!) I now can afford to ease my foot off the peddle and concentrate on the hook side of the business which keeps me very busy.

Will the "Specials" reappear in the future? Who knows? But certainly not in a few months!
Maybe I will just go back to supplying them at cost to mates etc, some of whom would be lost without them.
